You are definitely missing on some frames running 100⁰c

fortnite is pretty taxing on the cpu too so its best to keep it at least below 90⁰ ideally 70-80⁰. That may fix some stutter too with fortnite

Not much though since its rated TDP is just 45W while the turbo is max around 75Watts .The CPU throttles when it goes above 45W TDP and remains still above the minimum . So , not the ideal situation but not the worst as well

I have replaced the thermal paste recently like 2 months ago but its the same . The paste works good just for a few weeks but eventually fails at these temps bcz of lower space for cooling in these laptops as compared to PCs . Just a reminder that workstations are not built for gaming so that might be one reason☺️. Thanks for commenting anyways❤️

@Bulkoz Yes I tried disabling the turbo boost once , the temps are around 70 degrees ,TDP stays around 25-30W . I lose 20-30 fps that way.

There would be some difference but not too much since the i5 9th has 4 cores while i7 has 6 cores but depends on the scenario where cpu might be used more resulting in less fps than i7.

Well , as far as i have noticed the performance is dependent on the available VRAM . As long as it is under 6GBs (around 5.5-5.7 ig) the game would run buttery smooth regardless of DLSS being ON or OFF

It doesn't have a mux switch but you can disable the integrated gpu from bios. I have used Adobe After Effects and AutoCAD on this laptop, it handles it like a pro.

I bought the hp zbook 17 g6 laptop it has quadro rtx 3000 a core i9-9880H and 32 ram The gpu temperatures were fine but my cpu ones were reaching 85-95 i went to the adaptor power options to disable the boost mode and the temperatures dropped to 65-60 for the cpu Do you suggest making the turbo mode enabled again Even tho i heard very high temperatures like these shortest the lifespan pretty fast

Yes, Iam using Dell Precision 7740 with i7 9850H and quadro RTX 3000.I would recommend keeping the boost mode on since you would be losing a lot of performance by disabling it . About the temperatures, u need not worry about them because the system itself throttles to compensate for the heat .

sure i would test that soon but i dont expect run any better than 720p low at 30fps since the requirements are high

For laptops i recommend changing thermal paste every year.

@ I see, love your content btw I originally wanted to buy a gaming laptop but because of how expensive they are in where I live like just a RTX 2050 which is not even that good and can’t play newer games costs over $600 while these Quadro RTX workstations are about the same price but even more powerful, yes I know Quadro cards aren’t designed for gaming but that’s all what’s available in my budget and it does the trick.

Yes, bcz the actual TDP of the processor is 45W . It gets to 100°C when it boosts above 45 Watts . But despite all that, it doesn't affect the raw performance of the CPU.

It depends on the condition of the thermal paste too. So , can't say anything about it. As for mine, i just replaced the thermal paste 2 months ago. The GPU temps used to reach 80+ now they are very much under control like less than 70s. Cpu on the other hand is almost the same but goes up to 70W sometimes when boosting while it used to do 50 hardly

it would lag because of weak gpu and u might get 30fps at 720p resolution

However, u can try the original version of tomb raider from 2013 ig. That is less intensive than definitive edition

Quadro RTX 4000 is better. The temperatures are fine for gaming but it varies from laptop to laptop. Yes , i recommend buying it.

Yes iam using Nvidia shadow play for screen recording. You can expect 5-10 more fps without recording

well, Iam not used to high frame rate displays but i think 60Hz is not good for competitive games like Fortnite, PUBG, Valorant. It is good for story games though.
