I had a 2003 Honda Pilot. I had the rear rotors turned and had the same chatter marks. Shop told me the silencer pad or silencer belt was broke so they turned the rotors without it. Maybe similar situation.

Nice great tip is keep the crank half / a tooth off to take the slack off. I figured this when i changed the belt for first time 5 years ago. Another tip for ameature or new bie is take old belt , put a timing mark on old belt for cam and crank and transfer the mark to new belt for alignment.

I did my 2009 Ridgeline TB/water pump a couple weeks ago. The belt and tensioner was 9yrs/115k kms old and the water pump was original (219k kms)with no leaks. Tensioner looked like it had been leaking for a while but the belt was still in very good shape. This truck has alway had a pesky oil leak, I thought it was the oil filter housing, did the seals on that last year but that leak continued. While doing the TB service I found that it was the oil pump leaking... Did the reseal on that, pretty easy job all in all... GRAVEY as some would say... LOL!

That's already pretty good, might be too soon for some things. But dunno how many miles you drive in a year. I think the only thing missing is servicing the brakes and making sure everything moves freely and have those slide pins re-grease. Check and inspect engine air and cabin filter. But usually the service that needs to be done will show up in your maintenance reminder on the dash.

Your vehicle maintenance reminder will tell you when you reach that mileage. Typically if your due for an oil change it'll be either an A, B or 0. And then corresponding numbers for what service. At a 100k your sub symbol 4 for spark plug valve adjustment you will get a new valve cover gasket along with it. Sub symbol 5 for coolant. And any other service that can show up depending on when you had done the other service or the last time they had been reset.

I fell victim to a shop many years ago that resorted to petty sabotage to drum up repeat business. They'd mess something up on purpose and when you went back, they'd fix it and screw up something else. In my case, they did the front brakes and when they put the wheels back on, they hung them crooked and slammed them against the rotors with an impact gun, distorting the rotors. Luckily, I saw through the ruse very quickly and never went beck there again. I went to another shop and they turned the rotors without slammming the wheels with an impact gun. I didn't mind paying for it, either.

It’s disgusting. I am not just shocked but also surprised with the situation. I have personally had really bad experiences recently with a Honda dealer and I have decided to avoid them as the plague. Regarding the car blowing up head gasket it wasn’t not related with the oil condition but with poorly designed engine. The customer also was not really change the oil much but let’s not Forget that this oil condition is also triggered by constant fuel mixing with the oil and most likely some engine blow by due to the turbo running 20 psi boost . It is possible that the customer has done all the oil changes based on Honda smart schedule so I don’t know what it is the actual situation maybe he has extended warranty. When it comes to working for a dealer or not this is something that can be really tricky. Try running your own garage and then you will discover how hard or how Is it easy to survive and make Money. Most of the new engines are hard to service and this is not Customer fault but manufacturer try to make them so hard to repair so it pushes the customer to buy a new car . This destroys the relationship with the mechanic because he need to charge enormous amount of money for a relatively simple job because the engine is build in a way that is simply extremely hard to do anything. On the end the customer and the mechanic loose while the manufacturer ends up Selling a new car and win the most .

They are for assembly purposes but anything that comes off goes back on regardless of it don't matter or not. And if you machine the rotors with an on car brake lathe it holds the rotors in place so they don't flip around and rub on the caliper bracket.
@npolite22
@npolite22 2 күн бұрын
They are for assembly but also help keep things in place when replacing pads. I do put a little anti-seize on them as they tend to rust badly. You don't need these as when the wheel goes on will keep the rotor in place. Just your preference. On my 07 TSX I had a plastic door where the drain plug is located and got tired of putting it back on. That was many years ago but still have the door in my toolbox.
