Back then, I only supported the Vols because my fellow Queens native was such a beast player and worked well with her teammates. I actually wanted ODU to take this win so bad!! Something about Mery Andrade's spirit and Ticha's leadership just impressed me so much.

TN without their best player (T. Catchings) whoops up on Connecticut's Bird and Taurasi - gotta love it, then and now. I'm a women's b'ball purist - female coaches should not have to compete against male coaches anymore than female athletes should have to compete against male athletes. Don't think Geno would've been able to command any kind of respect or wins in a male environment. His "dominance" and preference for a female sport has only served to belittle female coaches and continue the ongoing assumption that males are better in any and every capacity over females. Sad, that the females of the sport have been so silent in this regard.
