Balls of steel!! I experienced my first up close experience last night when all the storms hit Mississippi/Texas and Alabama. It was raining all day and tornadoes were all in Texas it was a supercell.. anyways thr weather finally got to us after phone alerts and constant raining and we knew we were in the red zone. Well we went to the barn and parked the car after we got the alerts that said to "take shelter now" and I was in my mom's truck and they were parking her tractor inside a barn and all the sudden the wind went from calm to 100mph in like 10 seconds. I was screaming get in the truck! Get in the truck! The wind was violently rocking the truck and they jumped in and we got back home it was only almost a minute to the house and then the trampoline (that was secured with 2 steel chains to a post" was ripped completely from the chain and it was thrown into our 4 Wheeler well I jumped out of the truck almost falling out and the wind was so bad I couldn't close the truck door I could literally see the wind it almost threw me into the ground and I ran inside and we all went into the bathroom and the tornado hit half a mile from our house

That was the highest windspeeds ever intercepted by storm chasers. It was an EF4 with 170 mph windspeeds. Must have been exciting yet horrifying.
