Just did this today and accidentally pushed the seat bolt bracket through the Fender. Can't find any trick to fish it back in place. I really don't want to remove the rear wheel for this...

I dont unstand the importance of being under $100. Why not spend a little more and do a great job? Obvious issues with the paint, no primer? no clear? Hell if you want to save money just roll house paint? Stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. oh well, whatever makes you happy.

Classic cars used cellulose paint and did not have clear coat. I remember a friend having a small Marcos painted for a cost of 4 GBP. About 6 dollars and it was a great paint job. That was in 1973. I think the paint was left over from another paint job on a bigger car. How times have changed.

I agree why go to all that bother and skimp on the paint and body prep bit more time and another 200 quid and he could have had a much better job

Great vid. Great restortion. I must say however that the body is too high. Something needs to be lowered.

Doing what I wish I could have done 50+ yrs ago to my 67 Sprite. I kept her running for a few yrs and spent a lot of time over and under it. I think some insanity is taking over as I'm contemplating another try at one. I did have a second one in 1990 but first gear stuck in place, hmmm my first one did the same thing.

On the passenger seat it looks like the one bolt comes out and the front of the seat is just kind of hooked into the two front bolts. Then those two come out for the front seat to lift out. On mine I have the one bolt on the passenger seat out but I cannot get the seat to lift out. I even tried a pry bar. I would hate to break anything. Should I just keep at it?

Beautiful results! I restored an MG Midget all by myself, doing as much of the work as I could, (everything except machining of engine parts), and it took me 4 years. Of course, I had a full time job too.

When you are torquing down those rocker boxes…. you have a spanner wrench on your torque wrench. How do you manage a 7/16” wrench on that 3/8” drive ratchet? Have you got some sort of socket conversion on there changing your 3/8” drive to a 7/16” drive? Have you got a link you can provide to that?

Amazing skills @Raed! I’d love a bit of advice. I’ve replaced my 1973 MG Midget master and slave clutch cylinders. I have good travel on my clevis pin, approx. 1/2 inch, and first gear still grinds, and it’s very difficult to put in second gear. Any advice? Thanks in advance!!
