I tried Lownbrau in the late 90's. It sucked. Very cool looking bottle though.

I had one of those during my university years. It was the 1984 Olympics Edition. One of my favorite film cameras. It had a beautiful simplicity. I later got its older and more complex brother, the A-1, and then the F1. I always regretted selling the AE-1 Program, though. It was an elegant combination of capability and simplicity.

Well obviously there are no adapters for 8mm/hi8 and Mini-DV, because those are not miniaturizations of an existing large-shell format. Mini-DV does have a larger shell DV counterpart, but DV decks for those don’t need an adapter for Mini-DV. (DVCAM/DVCPRO evolved from consumer DV, not the other way around, so the decks had Mini-DV compatibility from the get go.)

Seeing these old ads is a complete education in and about your own culture. How we perceived stuff and how it was made for us as opposed to what is today. This was a very clean-cut and straightforward ad by todays standards. I served in the army during the Cold War and was stationed in Mannheim, West Germany. I almost collapsed when I saw the recent animated army recruiting ad.

How can that be an American beer?
@DDVF16 күн бұрын
In 1975, Miller Brewing acquired the North American rights to Löwenbräu. After two years of exports, Miller began brewing Löwenbräu domestically with an Americanized recipe, and exports of Munich Löwenbräu to North America ceased. Anheuser-Busch, whose Michelob brand Miller had intended Löwenbräu to compete with, called the attention of regulators and the public to the changes Miller had made to mass-produce the beer for the American market, changes which introduced artificial ingredients that would not have been allowed under the German Reinheitsgebot that Miller had advertised Löwenbräu as being compliant with. No regulatory action was taken, but sales of Löwenbräu dropped to the point where it was clear the brand would not seriously compete with Michelob for the premium-beer segment

The 1982 Camaro was a beautiful car. The 1982 Foxbody Mustang was the ugliest American car ever made at that time. Anybody would had to have been a complete fool to have bought the "Mustang" over the Camaro. Seems like there were a lot of "fools" out there, and still are.
