Thank you, very well done! If you do another video of this kind I would like to see a clearer difference between the color/pattern of the shell and lining fabrics.

It’s very helpful for beginners I agree . But professionally I’d add some more ease to the lining to specific areas like the bust curve and to the folding on the edge of the CF so that it’s not pulling but that’s just a few mm 😅

This helps a lot! I always have issues with cutting my fabric as a newbie in sewing/pattern making and having jagged edges.

Very nice video, but much easier to sew the band to the inside and flip it over and top stitch the bottom edge on the outside.

Hello, I am new to your channel and I just love your tutorials. since you mentioned it could you maybe show how to make a side welt pocket for coat or jacket? not the double welt one for vests and trousers, , the big one you put on the coats side. I already watched tones of videos and none is really good for a beginner. they tend to make it with fabrics that right side and wrong side of the fabric dont defer for example and one can not know which way they are supposed to stitch...among other things. so I would love to watch a video from you since I see you are so good at what you do. thanks in advance, keep up the great work!!!

great tutorial and your voice is so soothing...let me ask you, is the lining the same length with actual coat ?in sleeves and body length I mean. I get that at the sides and upper back its not because one has to cut out the facings part but i dont know about the length. please help me on that. greedings from greece

Thank you for the tutorial, I am trying to make a lined jacket for my friend and I think the number of times I have unpicked it has made it smaller. I will try to follow your instructions, thank you, One question you have such a quiet voice I had difficulty hearing you even at full volume.

Thanks! That was really useful. I'm a home sewist attempting a top for a Christmas doo without a pattern, rashly using a sparkly/glitter jersey/lycra fabric and adding a velvet roll collar. I have this book and couldn't believe you were talking through the very thing I want to do. My snag is the main body fabric is a bit scratchy so I'm adding the double sided velvet collar to be gentler against the skin (and therefore it's a totally separate entity to sew onto the main fabric, so where you have a satin 'facing' which is flipped out, mine would also have that satin on the side which is folded over) Might end up being too complicated but fun trying. Thanks again, this was really helpful.😊And makes me feel good to know Im seeing at level 6! 😉

How would you add loops if you didn’t want a modesty panel? Could I add them directly onto the corset between the outer layer and the lining?
