Listen carefully. Do you believe for a single second that Eartha Kitt stood passively and quietly took a whipping without complaint? It's certainly possible, but it does not square with the fiery person that we have seen so many demonstrations of over the years, and even within the four corners of this mini-bio. What I believe is that she had a mouth on her and was not afraid to use it. Can't behave, won't behave. You decide. "I Want to Be Evil" - Eartha Kitt

Poor Eartha. But she shrugged everything off! I love that about her. THE GOVERNMENT, ONCE AGAIN, WILL TRY TO RUIN YOUR LIFE IF YOU DISAGREE WITH THEM. Eartha, was an attractive woman, awesome figure, and definitely talented. 👏 🎬 Her daughter is beautiful. When Kit, was a little girl, she sorta resembled Lisa Marie Presley. RIP Eartha, you were an extraordinary woman. 🤲

Thank you for taking the time to research and share your findings with one of our greats. Eartha Kitt may not have wanted flowers and a big hooopla with her passing but the light glows stronger as her legacy grows. My mentor and friend...

Also, his work reminds me a little of Patrick Kavanagh, who's work was written to be said aloud to a beat, like when The Dubliners recorded his poem Raglan Road

She was spunky and self described as broken thus compensating by being outrageous and wanted. I think most ppl just want to give her hugs, but I think she was so strong she probably pushed others away from her self sabotaging any real love she could possibly have had.

I love Eartha Kitt! She made quite an impression on me as a child watching her on Batman and Robin. I so wanted Cat Woman to have her own show! No disrespect to Julie Newmar, Michelle Pfieffer or Halley Berry, but Eartha was my favorite cat woman. Thanks for the video. I look forward to seeing more from your channel.

No one has bothered to question if Kitt's daughter was biological or adopted? Can't seem to find any pictures of her pregnant anywhere only pictures of her holding a newborn. Isn't that ironic? Pictures after the fact only? Hey Jerry what's the real story?

Back in the day, it was very inappropriate for a woman to be seen visibly pregnant (especially someone famous). She likely hid her belly before it became noticeable.

I saw her at the Shaw Theatre, she was in her 80's then! I don't recall her having a break and it was a long show. When she sang the first note of La Vien Rose it felt like I'd been hit on the back of the head...such was her power. At the end of the show many men placed flowers at the stage...it was moving. Then to read she'd died within a year of that performance...she was truly a class act. Her daughter recalls visiting Eartha when she was in bed the last days of her life. Apparently the daughter raised her voice to make sure she was heard. Eartha lifted her head and said "Darling ... I'm dying I'm not deaf." The interviewer obviously hadn't done his homework to ask if she'd compromise in a marriage/relationship? she stood up for what she believed and paid the price...but her audiences loved her. Thank you for this tribute Kyia

Thank you so very much for this, Kyia. Eartha has never really been given the acclaim she deserves. I grew up listening to her music and loving her unique voice and incredible presence. Here in the UK, when I was a child in the 70s, Eartha was always on tv and was immensely loved, more so, I think, than in the U.S, at that time. She was so poised, so glamorous, so fiercely intelligent, so outspoken and so sophisticated and her repertoire of songs was wonderfully diverse. She could sing any song and make it sound like the only song in the world. I loved the fact that Eartha always said what she felt and stood up for what she believed and was fearless, honest, opinionated and honest. She blazed so many trails for those who came after her. Eartha was - and will always remain - a true legend and a real inspiration.

That opening interview. Damn, what a legend. Perfect response. I love how she keeps repeating the question seemingly to try and make sense of it or to see if it’s not as absurd as it first seemed to her. She is sorely missed.
