is there a step in breaking a horse where you just sit and then get off and then sit and then get off and so forth? or do you sit for a long time until the horse starts to move on its own? (watching the third video)

The way I'm going to do it with my horse, and in my opinion the best way, is to put one foot in the stirrup and lean on them, do that a few times until they're used to it, then swing a leg over and sit on them until they're used to that. They're used to that. That process alone can take a couple weeks. And then at that point you can ask them to walk using voice commands that you've already trained them to recognize. In these videos, I think a lot of the reason that the horses are freaking out is due due to the fact that they don't understand leg pressure yet, and that can be a really weird feeling. So training them to recognize voice commands and using those first before you introduce leg pressure can make it a lot easier on them.

I installed instagram to find my old schoolmates and still has it to keep contact with them. I rarely use it and log out after that, for months, until I feel like texting my friends. I still have the same feeling towards Instagram. I don't remember feeling better while using that app except for the small time dopamine rush I rarely get through some reels related to any type of art. I have yt for art. So using that app for happiness wasn't necessary. All the other times, it's just negativity through and through. Feeling down, feeling envious, feeling anxious. Absolutely hate that app. Now I deleted it,until I go back to check on my friends. Never regretted it.

I thought I was the only one getting so much content that triggered me. But it doesn't just happen on instagram, it also happens on KZbin. I get right wing content recommended when I follow a bunch of queer people and left leaning content. I still don't understand how social media works. I've been uploading art content and it makes me sad that I have to make stuff that I don't really like just to get more views. My goal was to get more followers and views to start selling art commissions but I don't really get how Instagram or tiktok work, so I don't know how to grow my accounts. Hope things get better, Pete. Wishing you the best ❤

I live with with my family, and they are quite horrible kind of peoples, and often Tiktok, insta,fb, yt track what they look on their phones, and suggest me, my dad looks at horrible things on Tiktok for example ,and when i open tiktok on my PC, i literarly get the worst things in my feed for no reason, even if im my own account. So maybe you might have someone using same Internet as you, other than that , the algorytm is extremly shit, honestly i'm tired how our data is stolen. I keep getting as recomanded stuff that i don't care of, and in same time peoples get recomanded my stuff which they might not care of, idk how this work anymore. Also the Instagram putting randoms in your feed is quite annoying ,i remember when i made my Insta fresh, it only show who i follow, now there is 99% randoms, 1% who i follow.

couldn’t agree more, it sucks you in and makes you feel like shit. ive had the app deleted for the majority of the past few years but whenever i redownload it it’s crazy how fast it and its bad energy takes over my life. using it on browser is chill cause i can still keep up with things (my girl and a few trans creators lmao) and the web version sucks ass so i don’t spend much time on it. its such a place of opportunity, its a real shame it’s become such a cesspool of hate and negativity. all love to you Pete, i appreciate you talking about this.

@SuitedSkaterLion
@SuitedSkaterLion 20 күн бұрын
I sadly can't delete my insta cause i post here Story with my pets n outfits i combo, and i have some peoples here that don't follow the Yt, but the thing is pretty much everywhere you go and is social platform you will meet negative peoples, example on KZbin i had random person messaging me telling me to Kill msefl and quit acting rich. Some person got to My KZbin and started to insult me saying to quit i'm becoming a nothing, and that i should djust quit ,and not eve edit anymore, some said i'm cringe, i had bad issues every other platform ,i know i have specific issues, but i saw there are a small hand of peoples that like what i do, even if 99% of hate me, i try to appreciate the 1%.. Also i deleted my discord for awhile for the reason that that place was so toxic, and i couldn't stand specific peoples. But the only thing that we can do is to avoid the negativity and focus on the positivity. Honestly i hit all the time low this year, i thought making my self public and sharing my life and having fun will be easy, instead i regret, and become depressed, but i try to do my best to not let go. Is sad that now days everyone can have an "opinion" which means, they can easly insult you, before i remember when Internet wasan't on everyone's house, there was not that many trolls, and disturbing peoples.. To not mention how unfair EVERYTHING is toward peoples that are Creators, and are new. You are FORCED to learn to be an actor.

Nice work, Pete. Indeed, it's so fundamental to their training, that it really pays to take extra time and go at their pace. I usually back horses bareback before saddling and backing later, so they become accustomed to weight first.

good to see other trans equestrians and props to you for taking the time to allow your mare to adjust to the saddle. do you ride english? if so, do you have any recommendations for male riding clothes? from the already limited stock i can find, most things are too large for me (5'4) and the women's clothing doesn't fit my body since i've been on t for a few years.

you'd be suprised! most race horses are broken at 18 months and tend to begin their careers at 2 years of age. the kentucky derby has an age requirement of at least three years, so this girl could hypothetically be completely broke and ridable by now. however, most horses ridden younger develop issues later in life. personally, i think he's on a very good track with where he and this filly are, but what do i know, i don't know him or his horse :)
@Pete-the-neat
@Pete-the-neat 26 күн бұрын
most horses can be ridden by the time they're 3. But since they're still developing physically until about 5-6 years, it's best not to do any super heavy work/ jumping until they're older! And she's an Arab, they're kind of a smaller breed, but i think she'll get a little bit bigger :)

It's best to wait till 3 or 3.5yo to train for saddle, but as long as a horse isn't being asked to carry more than 20-25% of their bodyweight, it's fine.

yes and no, while many of her mannerisms definitely indicate comfort with him, horses are naturally prey animals so they will pay close attention to any movements or disturbances in their vision. connection or not, she'd probably take intrest in her surroundings.

thank you! and not really, I attribute it mostly to her age, the younger the horse the shorter the attention span. And like I said she's only been on this farm for about a month, it can take 6 months to a year for them to feel fully familiar with their environment. She's still getting used to this place!

19:44 I definitely relate to being fed up with mental health “professionals.” It’s exhausting and invalidating to be pathologized for a healthy human response to trauma. CONGRATS ON GETTING TOP SURGERY!!! 🎉🎉❤❤🎉🎉 I started following you for gym content and I loved it, but I'm also staying for your mental health and trans stuff. You really inspire me. I'm glad everything is going well in your recovery process. I'm honestly kind of scared of getting top surgery but I've been saving up for a few years now and I plan on getting it done anyway. Also, congrats on the therapy thing. I've also been in EMDR therapy, for a few months now and it has helped me way more than like talking therapy (I don't know how to refer to it, I think it's CBT or something). It is VERY dense to go through all your traumatic memories but I think it's worthy. Although, I don't know if it's the right therapy for my diagnosis (BPD) but I think it has helped me. I hope it helps you too!! Sorry about the yapping and I apologise for my English, sorry if there's anything weirdly phrased 😅

When you said at 22:05 “people had no other reason then God said so” that literally is what I always would struggle with when trying to understand the reasoning of people I grew up with. People would ignore all common sense because “God said so” and it honestly just stems from gaslighting, fear and guilt.
