Marsalforn restaurants by the sea = ALL tourist traps. I'd suggest you speak to locals and do some sleuthing to find authentic restaurants if you want to try genuine Maltese food.

Unfortunately, the azures window is not there anymore. The blue hole next to it is amazing. I’ve snorkelled, and scuba dived it .

Yes, it collapsed unfortunately. Although there are proposals to rebuild it (well, make a steel structure) in the future.

Do you know if the ferry from Valletta to Gozo still runs in October? I can only see the fast ferry which is more of a large catamaran. Some reviews of it are bad due to the speed and sea sickness, I’d rather just go on the standard larger ferry if it exists

@@Vertymos I personally reserved before as it can be quite an early start, and there’s a risk of tickets being sold out. Definitely possible on the day though if you prefer the flexibility

I’ve had tiramisu in Florence, Bologna and the famous ‘Two Sizes’ in Rome and from my memory it was on par with them. If you didn’t enjoy this one, that’s fine but I know I did 👍🏽

Hi, I agree with @ruudneyens2903. I’d say at least 4-5 nights would be best to be able to get a complete enough experience. Of course, if you’re limited then 3 days will still be nice, but more time is ideal

Best things about Malta/Gozo are the weather and the views. Worst things are the public transport, the abandoned new builds gong to ruin, the constant building works, the beautiful old building going to ruin, the Maltese drivers. Definitely don’t come in high season unless you want to be part of the ‘sheeple masses’ in the towns and on every packed beach (beaches are jam-packed from May). Absolutely hire a car if you must come here you’ll have not a chance getting on a bus during high season.

Thank you for providing some great advice on sightseeing. The pizza at Sotto was good but far from the best wood fired pizzas the world can offer. The turamisu was dry and well below average. For a good tiramisu primer, try Happy restaurant in London :)

Hi, thanks for the question! ‘Get your Guide’ has cheaper tours around €20, so I’d recommend checking their website, or alternatively you can book with a street vendor once in Malta. You can always negotiate on the price then

9 days is a great amount of time to visit Malta! I personally think St Julian’s and Sliema are great locations to base your stay around, but I’d definitely recommend Valletta and Gozo too. When visiting Malta, look carefully for car rent. AVOID GreenMotion which is in airport. From promised 160 Eur car rent, I was charged of 480 eur in total. They took my deposit and after using rented car normaly they charged for deep cleaning. So if you don't want to be charged unexpectedly, choose wisely. And make photos of not only outside but as well as inside before and after taking car. Apart that, Malta is wonderful and worth visiting for hiking, eating, feeling and spending great time. Visit Malta!

when i was in Malta a few weeks ago, i keep smelling this sweet scent used by men in Valletta. It smelled like citrus and floral, with some hints of musk and leather. most men used this, not sure if it is an aftershave or a perfume. does anyone know what it is?
