@richarddelaney Any suggestion for coiling canyon ropes in a manner that will make them easy to coil, easy to carry and easy to use in rigging for the next drop? TIA

When you tie off the rigging rope - presumably PowerCord? -you use a round turn and 2x half hitches. Is this better than the often used way with ropes - ie: clove hitches? I ask this as when using PowerCord, I found some slight deformations in the cord where the clove hitches were tied. So, do round turns and half hitches remove this issue?

Best rethreaded alpine butterfly yet. Only critique is that you obstructed your rope initially but... again, best one out there! :) Short, sweet; amazing!

The figure 9 is easier to undo after put under heavy load. I used to install steel frames on towers. Figure 9 is easier to bend and it loosen up.

The double fisherman's knot and the barrel knot are just constrictor knots tied on their respective standing parts. They seem easier to remember that way assuming one has familiarity with the constrictor knot.

I would be interested to see inside and outside tail loads tested with a carabiner or shackle in the loop, and also a load on the one and two tails of a two-strand bowline.

VT hitches work well with ropes of equivalent size due to the additional surface area the VT hitch and is helped by specific type of cord construction used in the bound loop cord used to tie it.

I had heard of the "Super Glue" or more specifically the Cyanoacrylate method of terminating a rope and attempted it myself. After waiting about 20 min with no perceptible change in the glue, I soaked up the mess with a shop cloth and did some research. My first suspicion was that Cyanoacrylate requires anaerobic curing conditions, this is not true, in fact it is the presence of O2 in the tube that keeps the Cyanoacrylate monomer from polymerizing into the solid form we are after, and it is the presence of H20 that is required for the polymerization reaction: of which there was almost none in the dead of winter in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. So, PSA, if you are in a dry climate, let the rope sit a while to absorb some H20 and allow the glue time to cure before you assume that the canyon bro that told you to super glue your rope ends is an idiot haha big fan of you and your content, Richard. Please keep it coming. Cheers!

Do you hold on to the blue rope when you weight the prusiks? I tried this and I couldn't get it to slide if I just pulled on the prusik, only if I pulled on the "failed" rope with it.
