Dogs also mimic human behaviour and react to energy levels, too many people think it's about size.

I’m a dog trainer in Canada and I breed Cane Corso, there are no bad dogs but please know that “pits” have never been nanny dogs. Not a thing. They can be excellent with kids yes but not a “nanny dog”

th intro to this video ignores the intincts that lead to agression, and that some dogs will be geneticly predusposed to being more agressive than others. its not all learned behavior.

Oh for God's sake! She tried to pet the dog while it was eating, which is why she was attacked. In the eyes of the dog it was a provoked attack all because her as a child was failed to be taught how to interact with dogs properly. Most people shouldn't own dogs because they're too damn stupid to take the time to understand basic dog behavior!

The jack hole @ 2:14 is an idiot .Whether you find pit bulls sweet, the devil or just plain MEH the first time ANYONE ever said that they were ever called "Nanny Dogs " is in a magazine devouted to the breed in 1974 . Also I hate to bring bad news but while I was living in Florida the news reported maulings and deaths nearly every 2 weeks . Now it is true that most are due to really crappy owners in which group I would include Ade Howe. I do not hate pits but I think anyone who wants to own one needs to be responsible and be aware of the potential these breeds have. I have been called to task on line for saying it is NOT a good idea to leave small children ( and OF COURSE babies ) un attended with most dogs BUT ESPECIALLY dogs who have been bred to have jaws that can crush and tear .More than once I was told that even the Bichon Frise' I had at the time might bite a child who was poking it in the eyes. The difference is if my dog had bit a child her jaw strength was so weak she couldn't break the skin. A pitty can ( even unwittingly ) take off an arm or a face .Leaving a child under the care of a pit bull is child endangerment and child abuse.

Dog's are *not* wolves. Looking to wolves for dog behavior is simply retarded. Most aggressive dogs are fucked up by shitty owners. A small percentage of dogs are mentally ill, just like people. Some older dogs become senile, which can also be dangerous. Wolf-hybrids are also *not* dogs. They are wolf-hybrids. I spent my early childhood alongside "Buddy," our Labrador retriever. We used to walk around the backyard together, basically unsupervised, when I was 3 or 4 years old. My mom tells me that we would come back inside and I would report to her everything that Buddy "told me" while we were out. That dog was my best friend and would have *never* hurt me. This program is really pissing me off...

Living in Manhattan, I took my son (under 1 year at the time) to the park in a stroller & this was known in the neighborhood as the "doggy park" for obvious reasons. One time I took him after eating ice cream and all the dogs came in for a lick. I held my son's hands at the time so he could not grab at the dogs. By doing this a number of times, my son learned not to grab at a dog, but to let them snif him first. This behavior stayed with my son. I hope I did well in teaching my son to let the dog get to know my son before my son tried to pet him.

People should do their research before getting a dog. If you are not an active person then it would not be wise to get a lab or a border collie because they will destroy everything you own out of boredom. Many people get Labradors because they are cute as pups but when they grow to around 6 months of age then the owners do not want them anymore because they are too busy. That's the sad truth.

i am always very delighted when on a dog walk i pass parents with small children and the children want to go ballistic on my dog but the parents hold them back and explain them to never run at a dog as it will most likely frighten the dog. sadly i have also come across the parents who tear their child off the ground whenever a dog closes in, no matter how small or non-threatening. and people who are so bad at reading rather obvious dog language that they were afraid of my very friendly middle-sized dog who at a slow trot came over to them, ears and head lowered, low tail wag and initiating a friendly/submissive crawl as it got closer (and my dog didn't come closer because she was badly behaved, but because those idiots started talking to her, thus inviting her to come over)

Some dogs are naturally aggressive. If a dog is selected to be aggressive by breeding, they will naturally be for aggressive. Not all dogs though

fantastic , i agree. so many ppl believe it is the fault of the dog, wolf , cat, whatever , but they never think of themselves . what did they do that triggered the animal to strike at them . does that animal have a history that you are not aware of . i wish i could own a wolf hybrid , but i know better . so i have my domestic wolf .... a Siberian husky . tho not officially trained . for some reason he has a instinct of when my ptsd is in overdrive and he responds to get me to play with him more . to get me out of the house and walking with him more when that happens .
