Ma'am would it be possible to add more plant physiology videos with taking reference to the latest version of campbell. Thank You

hello ms.barker! im taking ap biology this year and my teachers pretty tough...i want to be able to go over the chapters and take notes by myself, but thats time consuming and i have other aps. Im planning on using your videos and reading over the textbook instead! would that be a good method for trying to survive ap bio? from a tired ap biology sophmore
@barkerchemАй бұрын
Hi there :) My students for the most part dual enroll, so although I am covering a lot of the same content as you will, I tend to have to go over it in greater depth. Just an fyi. I also made these my very first year teaching AP Bio, so I can’t say they are the greatest. Use whatever helps you, but I definitely encourage you to do practice AP questions when you can. Hang in there!

I am not sure I can agree with your take on science's definition of 'theory'. It almost seems as if you would be giving support to those naysayers who would say "yah, but evolution is just a theory." Theory, in science, isn't a guess or a hunch. Gravity is a theory, and the 'theory of evolution' is indeed backed by insurmountable and incontrovertible evidence.
@lukehudek61536 ай бұрын
Yeah her definition was somewhere closer to predicting an observation, not even a hypothesis

I believe I was using Campbell’s 10th. We have since adopted Campbell’s 12th. If I ever have time I may go back and redo these.

This video was very helpful, I just have a question about the "You cannot measure heat" part at around 28 minutes into the video. If anyone could answer, that would be great. What does that mean, I was thinking Fahrenheit and Celsius were ways to measure heat, but if I am looking at this with the wrong perspective or context, I would love an explanation.
@barkerchem11 ай бұрын
You can measure temperature, but there is no device to quantify energy. It can only be calculated.

I’m sorry my video wasn’t at a quality you expected. It was my first year teaching the course, and I hadn’t taught bio in 10+ years, much less college bio. I was still getting acquainted with the breadth and depth of the content. These were made for my students during COVID, and I was going through a lot of content in a very short period of time.

I know this was three years ago and I do not mean to come off rude!, but you should practice not saying uhh, or umm so often.. or at all! It is very difficult at first but it makes you a much better presenter and speaker without saying uhhs or umms !! Other than that all your reviews are amazing they help me out so much!
