@@henrycarter1045 i own 6 different unbutcherd 55 56 and one 56 convertible under restoration and completed a cosmetic restoration on a 57 Black widow with Ramjet System Thanksgiving in time to Drive for holidays Thanksgiving to Christmas 1700 miles No LS bullshit I always rebuild original engines no monkey wheels just improve brakes And handling yes I can afford it i run/own our machine shop that started in 1935 i buy butchered cars and bring them back if I think it possible . What's "weird"? M170 were built to be ambulances, some were used as radio trucks. They had wide opening on passenger side / spare mounted inboard so stretchers could be carried on both sides outboard if needed while maintaining tailgate access. The 'restorer' removed stretcher litters and replaced them with two bench seats, 'civilianized' the electrical system. The M170 had a civilian counterpart, the CJ6, which shared wheelbase and stretched body dimensions with M170 but lacked military / ambulance provisions and had spare mounted outboard on rear left fender as on CJ5
