I don't know, if it was me, I'd go full throttle, might help with trains being more frequent, even with the new 387s and the GX 387s, they still haven't got enough to replace the 455/8s.

@TrainLifeGB yeah true, but drivers drive so slow with 377s. The train hasnt got torque sense acceleration. It won't knock anyone over. Full throttle is literally 0.62m/s² very gentle start even if it still gets to speed relitively fast. Never understood barely using botch 4 at low speed in electrostars. That being said, 80mph-85mph would be best ,why? Its a mainline, its open track, may as well be closer to a higher speed. I also dont know why the UK likes to keep things the same until it hits rock bottom . I.e if train is falling apart. Thats the only time uk gov wants to invest in change. Not make future proof designs or invest in changes earlier on. Southern side of the railway is stuck in the 1890s with speed limits and Infrustructure. Like why dont class 377s have the same gear ratio as a class 378 if they only ever hit 90mph? Or why dont they ramp the speed limit to 100mph? Why don't they upgrade third rail to give the trains the ability to use full power. All sorts of things that coulr be upgraded for the sale of modernisation ...but nope. "Lets keep English railway in its old fasioned state until something goes wrong!! "💪😬🇬🇧"

​@bb-3653 They prefer to use the money for themselves. I would also think that they just don't upgrade the third rail because they don't like it, it's dangerous after all. The amount of volts in the third rail, if you stepped on it, your foot would get stuck on it like glue, and you'd explode. It's why there has and won't be any more extensions.

I would go out more, money is a problem though. And as for me going out with other people, not right now. And there's no train enthusiast that I'm friends with to go out with.

Thanks! I had a great day out! Sadly no sprinters as there was work happening, so they were doing Salisbury to Exeter Services. And there were no 458/4 services apart from 1347 and a few evening ones. Sadly 455868 hasn't been out for a few days either. Edit: 455868 is back out and about with 455901.

Same, only 4 in service, though. There should be 6. But 458532 has not been seen for a month or 2 and they usually use either 458535 or 536 rather then both. And 458531 and 534 are at long marston.

The sprinters are nice trains, though by 2040 they'll be banned. 2035 for Scotland though.
