Thanks for this vid. The frame containing the light sensor and earpiece got stuck in my phone as well and I was afraid/not sure how to remove it. Looks like you dont need to be too terribly careful with the frame itself, just the sensors at the top

Yes, it is possible, I tried few times. Hands get tired if the weight is not balanced properly, but it works well. Good luck with your project.

@@zodiac7koproi 1.

Great video, thank you. I have a general question. For removing textures, I see the skim coating, and also there are motorized drywall sanders for knocking down the texture. Most videos don't seem to use the motorized sander. So... Which is it? Is it just a series of skim coat layers or should I use a motorized sander first?
@LearnTogether101 Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I used motorized sander first ( Parkside sander, see my other video) to remove all the texture, then apply one layer of mud followed by painting. For me the above process gave a smooth wall. Hope this helps.
@vespatrixie2555 Жыл бұрын
Depends on whether you have the time and muscle to do the sanding manually. Texture can be quite tough to smooth out. I have 2 days. I need to get the whole room ready for skim coat.
@GlockPunisher1 Жыл бұрын
One skim coat is enough to remove the texture, but it doesn't mean you are done. That wall needed a second coat to cover the holes left from the first coat and sanding.... then there could be a third finishing coat if the second didn't take.
@LearnTogether101 Жыл бұрын
Sure, from my experience if the sanding is done properly to remove most of the texture, then you dont need multiple skim coats. I just applied one skim coat and sanding with fine grit >120 gave a smooth wall ready for painting.

it is best to check if the popcorn ceiling has asbestos before even sanding especially for very old houses
@LearnTogether101 Жыл бұрын
Very true. I have asbestos ceiling in my garage that I have to remove at some point 😊 Thanks.
@stevelopez372 Жыл бұрын
In California it is required to have a survey(test) completed before scraping any material that might contain asbestos. Scraping without knowing will contaminate the interior of a building. Won’t put my family at risk. But I get DIY and budgets. Lol.

I’ve just bought this same machine with the same motor but mine is shaking as hell and i don’t know what to do about it
@LearnTogether101 Жыл бұрын
I observed shaking when 1) on rough surface 2) after changing the sand paper. Just start with almost no pressure applied, when the surfaces makes good contact in a minute, then apply pressure, it should work. Hope this helps.
@mircobandini Жыл бұрын
My surface was not rough as yours. Also it’s really shaking bad when i put a little pressure. The only actual way to make it possible is not put pressure at all and i’m not sure about the contact, or pressure a lot and that makes it so hard to do the job. I’m thinking some piece of the item is not balanced or is misaligned. If i don’t figure out the fix i think i’m going to return it even if looked good for all the rest.
