Beautiful alfalfa! Round bales of grass hay at Hinton auction went from $5-$20 per bale. Dad was looking for an implement tire for the front of his 3020. 4 new ones went for $800. One single used, $245. L11-16.

@@martinbenton742 hay is cheap. So is corn. Cattle to follow? I hope not. Those are ridiculous prices for tires. Should be about $60 for an 11L-15. 3 years in a row I've replaced a tire on my 7200. Takes a cow each time to pay for it.

@AgWildNebraska dad had 3 bales there because he is down to one horse. I don't know what his brought 5 or 20. I hope the livestock market for the farmer doesn't drop. Prices at the store sure won't. Dad knew the hay would be cheap because it's been a good grow year. He just didn't want it to waste even if it cost him more in gas to haul it there. I'm going to look on market place for a tire for him. I didn't know he was in need. One of his is getting pretty bad and wants to replace it before he has to move snow.

This was a pretty big threshing bee. They had three threshers there running. The straw coming out though just didn't smell very good kind of musty so it must have gotten wet. They were trying to demonstrate the full year from turning the soil to planting to cultivating to harvest. We have two plows but only use one for a garden every so often.

Some of those doves stay around here year round. I think they are a Eurasian type. Those thistles are supposed to be a biennial.
