My brother your bike she seems to have one carb that needs to be checked on, she tries to tell you that one of the cylinders has not enough fuel. It's like sometimes she run on one cylinder especially on 1/3 - 1-4 throttle. Or she might need a new carb like mine, the butterfly valves are worn from 30 years of abusive ex owner. Anyway sorry if I am being a bit nosy but I just wanted to help a fellow shadow riders 🙏🤘

Have some older harleys, but rode a vlx 600 bobber last week, and basically a great scoot! Bike was quick and rode it to the 96mph! Fast enough for an old man!!!!

I have a 600 here in Thailand, it's considered a "big' bike here. Mine is a '93 and has served me well, very little maintenance and very easy to ride, it's more or less stock, except for the pipes, more chrome and fat rear tyre. Slight whinge is mine has only a four speed tranny with a 41 rear sprocket, so doesnt go that fast, love to upgrade to a five speed like this one is... PS keen to ride all that way in the cold.... brrrrrrr

My man, Ive decided to come out from under my rock and go over the comments. I know i about a year late, but in regards to your question... lol Ive spend about 15 to 17k on it over the years. That includes yearly maintenance, engine upgrades and whole load of accessoires. It could've been way less, but i changed exhausts 3 times for example. Dutch laws are harsh on loud bikes.. found out the hard way. ;)

You're fortunate to ride with your dad. I used to ride with mine (2 up) when I was a little kid till about 12 or 14, now I'm70 and still riding an xl1200c.

I’ve had 110 mph out of my 883 with Wyatt Gatling slip ons , to be honest 80-90 regular is fast enough

You nailed it. The 883 is PLENTY fast/powerful enough. 77mph is regardless on a HD.

Couldn't agree more. The new Sportster i got later did not get the same treatment. I barely go over a 110km/h nowadays, if ever.

@ Its not the hurry its speed limit when you have 65 and all motherf... going min 75- 80 and some even more you cant ride 60 for your own safety and imagine all going 80 and you have to accelerate quick to avoid something do you still have power to do that or not really? For hwy with 45 or 55mph speed limit I’m sure its great bike but can i drive safe with others at 80mph and have enough power to do 90 quick if needed? thats what i need to know.

First thing id change on both bikes is the mirror location it makes no sense to have to look down to see whats coming behind u keep ur eyes on the road

Brian Vieyra I ride a sportster and flipped my mirrors under the bars as well. It’s actually easier to see behind you because you look under your arm instead of staring at your shoulder.

My speedo is on top of my bars with harly mount and its its perfectly lines up with my morrors i installed risers so everything is at eye level see many guys out on the road looking donw to see the mirrors, and down to see speedo cause they relocated to the left side of tank ivhear ya tho ride safe brother
