This is wrong. I ran a pickup dually with a 50ft 5th wheel neck...with overhang as well. And I ran an apportionment tag of 34k lb, so I didn't get nailed for over 26k

Buy a real truck, at least a REAL medium duty...don't be a hotshot clown with a pick-up.

You are wrong you have to have a 5th wheel with out the bed to be over 65ft combination must have a 5th wheel hook up you are wrong

Amish need to watch this so they quit taking regular pickup trucks and turning them into what you have. They'll take a regular 2500 pickup truck and pull weight as heavy as what a semi would. And these trucks can't handle that kind of weight without blowing up an engine, rear or transmission. They pull skid loaders, track loaders, mini hoes with other materials and supplies on the same trailer all at the same time and think nothing of it. Plus if a cop/DOT sees that, now you're taking tbe chance of getting a hefty ticket with points on your license. Since Amish don't drive. When in my opinion the Amish should get fined and suspended from hauling anything until they get their weight classes passed through a weight hauling class. So they know what we can and can't haul legally

I ran hot shot 20 years ago. I pulled a 48ft load space. I wasn't able to go through Florida or Tennessee. But I went everywhere else. I never went to California though. I had a dually Dodge with a full bed. But the laws might have changed now. By the way, the trailer was 57ft neck to tail. But I really like your setup. Very cool.

I can tell by this setup that this is going to require a CDL and at that point stop pissing around with a pickup truck and just get a semi truck and trailer. The cost is actually typically less and you're going to be able to haul way more and make more money. Operational costs are less overall as well then a pickup. Do your research people. Using a pickup for CDL work is not all that it's cracked up to be. If you know what you're doing and how to do it, you can obviously make plenty of money using a pickup to do CDL type of work however, it really doesn't make any sense to skip getting a semi truck when it has so many more advantages over a pickup. Profit is better with the semi truck as well.

In the us it all revolves around weight rating when it comes to federal….if the combination of the truck and trailer weighs more the 26001 pounds you have to have a class A it’s completely legal to have a 3500 and 40 foot trailer but realistically you can only haul what maybe 5k pounds if that….why dot loves hotshots they don’t read the fine print. Not all hotshots are like that but a lot are and think they can skate the system till they can’t

Hotshot trucking is still commercial training I drive semi truck for a company in Utah and I have a career commercial driver license C.D.L and with that setup you have you need a commercial driver license class A .C.D.L in order to be legally operating on the road 😊
