The Episcopal Church has become a pathetic vehicle for woke liberal politics. When we don't exist in 30 years you will know why. No one wants to see this garbage in the church. That's what Twitter is for. Focus on the Gospel and Jesus, what we did when we actually had a following that wasn't in sharp decline. Lord have Mercy.

Kci Woliwon this hard work does not go unnoticed the amount of emotion I feel as a Passamaquoddy/Maliseet woman for our people is overwhelming. I pray that these issues are successful for our current and future generations that they will be able to overcome so many years of oppression and racism we have felt for hundreds of years. This is an opportunity for the Tribes to move towards healing and create better relationships with our neighbors so we can all be successful economically to prosper for many generations to come as a State alongside with our Nations.

The work that Fiona Hopper has done is impressive. In the past, others have worked hard to gain traction with LD291. Maulian does a great job here of providing an overview and context for what happened. There were Wenuche folk who tried to implement, like Joseph Charnley at King Middle School in Portland and others. Joseph ran an electronic newsletter on Web Studies for years. He finally stepped down as it was challenging to gain any momentum to move forward. Not enough people were engaging with the work. My experience with teachers in southern Maine, in the past, was that while they welcomed a visit they were not that interested in developing curricula around Wabanaki Studies. I understand that most teachers are over-worked and over-whelmed. The reality, though, is that some just could not be bothered. They wanted to have someone visit and present and just check it off the list. It wasn't until Wabanaki people began more successfully engaging with teachers in Maine, and helped to develop curricula that merged content areas with Wab Studies material that real progress occurred. And even then, the Web Studies material is typically presented in the Western European educational paradigm. First we had to ask, then insist that this material be included. But it wasn't funded, which was another obstacle to implementation. Then more schools were "open" to having a presenter or offering material to students at specific grade levels. But it was still presented in the Wenuche way. And still viewed as an add-on and not integral to the history and culture of Maine. It is my sincere hope that teachers will begin, after decades, to understand that the Wab Studies material enriches the educational experience and has its own value. It should be part of core curriculum and our cultural life ways offer learning in ecological knowledge, ethics, group dynamics and teamwork, observational skill sets, inclusion, conservation and so on. It can be done. It requires ongoing commitment and fiscal support. Kpi Woliwon, Maulian, for all you do. And to James Francis, who I believe said, "Nothing about us, without us."

In 2021 I think the average age of an Episcopal is about 65 years old. I am doing my part to help make my Episcopal church in Norcross GA as sustainable as possible. Charles Dowdell grandson of Victor Lyle Dowdell.
