You don’t understand, you don’t until ya don’t…. There’s still hope for you. Groove, ala style of jazz, meaning head/improv/head/end….as well as changing tempo within those changes maybe meaning taking the triplet 8th note feel into straight quarter note feel or vice versa within the tempo set. The tempo changes just help with ways of stretching those sections to obtain more to play over and to try to eventually hit on something dope, play the dopest thing ever for a short second and then bounce out to another section and or tempo feel…. Striving for improvisational freedom and always trying to get to something interesting and new and fresh directly on the fly. Hard things to achieve. Striving for perfection and direction over some basic parameters to guide your way . I’m not sure if that makes sense really but that’s the best I can do right now on the fly 🧐

Wow, I wish I could have seen this live. I've been to 4 Elektric Band shows since this song was recorded and they never did this one live. I figured they never did, and then this video surfaces. Not only a live performance, but wow that solo! Lucky You! Thank you for sharing! BTW for those of you who aren't familiar, this is Johnny's Landing from To The Stars

that was the best solo for last few years so far ...... like in early 90´s when he played with great ideas, chops and balls of fire astonishing dynamics and storytelling through the drumset ... yeah, i missed it a lot ..... now it´s coming up again !!!!!! great

i said that now it´s focused on rebound but in 90´s it was tight and groovy like with Mike Stern and Michel Camilo .... he was fine and answered rationally: "either you like or either don´t" .... but i think the groove and the fills with creativity is always something what catches the ear of the musicians in the audience ...

I saw them live in '89, and recorded it with a hand-held mono pocket recorder meant for audio dictation. I still have that damned tape, though long ago I transferred the audio to CD. Crappy quality be-damned - good music is good music :)

As the title SHOULD suggest, this is not meant to be some anal retentive, scientific exacting decoding of any specific Bonham lick, song, solo etc. It's merely me wanking to fill time whilst band members tuned etc.
