Nice!! super heavy bong accent :) Maybe you should have a gro pro outside the windshield for better stable videos.
@thesuvfamily2 күн бұрын
Yes, I have thought about Go Pro.. but its battery backup is the limiting problem. I would need to carry 2 Go Pro and 2 battery packs to meet my consumption.. I might change my dashcam to a 4K to get better quality. But I understand, the quality won't be as great as Go Pro.
@arnprasad2 күн бұрын
@@thesuvfamily more than gopro its your windshield with the glare. So if you have something inside it needs to be very close to the glass so it will completely focus on the outside. One alternative to gopro is DJI action 3....during dussehra sale you may snag it for around 17-18K and it has got very good reviews and is comparable with gopro. Costco had gopro 11 for 99 dollars last week in few stores :) Also the dashcam/action cam need not record every minute. HOpefully with the actioncam on your hood you should be able to control it with your phone.

@@arnprasad okay.. will explore this option. For this road trip, I tried to share uncut videos of the route, because there's no channel on YT sharing the whole route. It made the videos long and a bit boring, I admit. But I did this for this road trip only 🙂

What's hrs?
@thesuvfamily7 күн бұрын
HRS. It's Hydraulic Rebound Stop. It's a hydraulic stop damping in rebound direction. Basically, it lowers the rebound forces in a controlled manner, thus reducing the load on the upper mouth and thus the body. It helps reduce impact noises, acts as dampers and minimises vertical roll. With this additional assembly, you can ride along bad/rough patches at a moderate speed without much drama.

Thanks for sharing such an informative video. I am inspired with the information depicted by you. I am planning to drive all the way from Hyderabad to Nubra valley with my 2007 model Swift which is in excellent condition and clocked 83,000 KM. But I am also 75 years old and the last time I visited Khardunla was in 1978 with my Enfield 350 cc bike. Things have changed in those decades. Can I make it?
@thesuvfamily13 күн бұрын
Sir, you are an inspiration. You created history with your Enfield in 1978. Definitely you can make it to Khardung La and beyond as roads must have improved manifold compared to those in 1978. And age, that's just a number. I am extremely pleased that you liked the video. I tried to gather information, some on the way, some before going there and some after coming back and researching further. I would love it if you watch the other videos of this series too. And it would be my personal wish to meet with you some day in person.

@@thesuvfamily Yes, the road from Jammu onward was a pathetic one and beyond through Zojila pass was a nightmare. Interestingly at the same time a guy from Faridabad came to Manali from Leh in a Rajdoot bike. That opened the eyes of GOVT. of India to search for an alternate route. Next year my programme is to drive on the Australian outback in a 4 wheel drive vehicle. So I kept the Leh program for 2026 summer time. Shall have enough time to book accommodation in advance. I do wish to meet you if there is a chance. Good night.

I20 can also go there what is so big in this
@thesuvfamily17 күн бұрын
If you took "i20" down there and safely climbed back, then congratulations to you because it was your lucky day. If you are thinking about doing this just to prove that "i20" can go down there, please don't, especially if you are with your family. A front wheel drive car can definitely go down there, but won't come up because of the steep gradient, loose soil/sand and boulders. Plus, you need adequate ground clearance to avoid damaging your underbelly. My humble opinion, though. Take care, be safe.

How was your overall experience with the car. Did the car stuck at any bump or touched ground? Tiy
@thesuvfamilyАй бұрын
Hi, it was an excellent experience with Jeep in such terrains. The ride quality was good. Yes, there were two occasions where the front skid plate touched the ground, because the inclination was too steep and I didn't notice that. I guess if I had been dead slow, it wouldn't have touched. However, there was no occasion where the underbelly scratched. The ground clearance is more than adequate for such terrains. Notable is its suspension. I would really urge you to watch episode 12 of this Leh series. I have tried to explain about the suspension there..

At what time you started from manali and when did you reach jispa? Im trying to calculate the total travel time b/w chd and jispa
@thesuvfamilyАй бұрын
Hi, we actually did Chandigarh to Jispa and then Jispa to Leh. Chandigarh to Jispa drive time was around 9.5 hrs but total travel time (drive plus all stops) was around 12.5 hrs. Jispa to Leh total travel time was around 15 hrs. But we had lost 2.5hrs at Darcha because we got stuck in a standstill traffic due to army movement. You can cover Jispa to Leh in around 12-13 hrs. Manali to Jispa is around 50-60 kms. So add another 2.5 hrs to it. Actual driving time between Chandigarh and Leh (665 km) had been 21hrs for us.

Hi, i want to know why you choose jeep meridian over other SUV's who cost same? People blindly go for Fortuner, some go for Scorpio-N 4x4, XUV 700 (AWD) so why this? This car has 4x4?
@thesuvfamily2 ай бұрын
Hi, I actually got Meridian 2yrs back. Mine is 4x4. It's as capable as any other 4x4 SUVs in the market. The main reason I didn't go for Fortuner was because of its lack of features. The model badly needs an update to justify its price. At 50 lakhs bracket, you don't get EPB, auto IRVM, etc. Not even after 2yrs has Fortuner been updated. Regarding Mahindra, the waiting period was absurd at that time. Also, I was specifically looking for 4x4. XUV 700 and Kodiaq are AWD.
