I dig the cup out around the bottom lip,repaint.put a lead strip on the bottom. 12 to 15 lb test.

@@carldearman1836 you can use either green or ones that have been dead a long time. If it is green make sure to take some of the branches out to create some space for larger fish to use it.

The Gravois arm has a lot of blue cats the flatheads are there too but not as many.

I lived in osawatomie KS 25 years ago and the marais des cygnes river there is connected to Truman lake The blues would migrate up the river before the flatheads Seen this happen for several years before moving to Osceola mo

I've been catching them on a variety of baits. There is a bunch of food for them to eat this time of year I've caught them on swimbaits, crankbaits, 2 inch white grubs, leeches, and ned rigs over the last 2 trips. I've had a lot of followers not bite too they are finicky to catch with so much food around to eat.

In my lake if there's a shad ball, sandbass are inside munching. With ffs I see it all yr everyday. You can throw 8" or smaller flutter spoons into the balls and get Slammed!

I love fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks when I can. I've always fished a dock or the bank, I need to take my kayak there.

That's how I used to do it too with my dad from dock or shoreline getting a kayak to even fish around a couple coves is a huge gamechanger

I hope your foot heals quickly. Those are some nice walleye, one of my goals for 2024 is to catch a walleye because I never have before. I just need to find a really good location here in Missouri.

Thank you! Best lake for numbers of walleye in Missouri that I have found is Stockton Lake. Try the points with wind blowing on them while trolling or fishing at night
