There are passages which remind me of Scriabin's fantastic, and "out of this world" late works, such as the "White Mass," or "Black Mass" Sonatas for piano. I can also hear in this piece traces of Gamelan, from Bali. Francis Poulenc also used the sounds of Gamelan in his Concerto for two pianos and orchestra.
