I agree that it is hard to say that one product sounds better to the ear of one person than someone else. For example, I was in the military and spent some time with a 105 Howitzer unit (a 5-mile cannon that was very loud). I was also a Club Dancer from the age of 15 - 34 (lots of clubs all over Europe), and played in lots of bands. I often left the club with ringing in my ears. I am sure I hear a lot of difference from someone who had led a pretty quiet life. I truly love hearing good sound staging, separation, and imaging in my music.

Very nice video, I have a Kenwood Amp KA 87, Radio Shack 100 CD Changer, Allied 3030 Speakers and a very old BIC 980. I have tried to clean it but was afraid to pull it so apart. But it looks like I need to get brave And take photos. It runs and turns but on stop the arm travels out out the turn table then the motor shuts of. I heard it was the White rubber tire that needs cleaning and NO OIL. So I bet that is where I messed up. Great video Thank You, I am so excited now. Dennis

Streaming is a racket. Just bought a bunch of TV and Movies for xmas. It was JOYFUL having take out the case, take the disc out of the case, place it in the player and hit play. It's a personal experience. No Streaming charge for access, to then pay again for premium content even when the content is 60 years old, because. No one knows I'm watching, what I'm watching, how long I'm watching. I'm not a data set, I'm a person watching content I OWN. Simple. Pure. Keep raising those rates, Steaming Services. Keep charging for customers to watch commercials, with no ad free tiers. Keep up charging premiums for ancient content. Keep up charging for anything worth watching, period. And, I'll keep expanding my physical media ad nauseam. As far CD's go, no vinyl does not "sound better". Vinyl is a fad. Although, album artwork at album size is special, I'll give it that. Otherwise, people who say vinyl sounds better are responding to a sonic placebo, placed in their ear, in their brain, in whatever fashion such a notion becomes a fad. Yes yes, some CD's sound crappy. That's not because of the CD, it is because the music wasn't prepared optimally for the format - blame the record company. But, those CDs are the exception. Buy CDs, don't stream your music - it cheapens it, and you.

I just unboxed my ZD3 and paired it up with a Cabasse Abyss amp. Not the best pairing, and this is with the stock op amps. To my ear, and I need to try this, would be the ZD3 > Cary clone SLP90 tube preamp > ZA3 or other A/B amplifier. You can see the Cary clone at the HiFi Zone KZbin channel. This is an outstanding little preamp, and yes, I own one. I really like this ZD3 DAC, which I did not expect to happen.

Thank you for your honest and precise review. I’d like to share a few thoughts about the concept behind our product. As you rightly pointed out, the device offers a versatile combination of outputs, allowing users the flexibility to choose their preferred connections. Introducing a headphone amp was an innovative step for our product line, and from that idea came the addition of a display, making it naturally suited for desktop use in this specific context. For all other scenarios, our app ensures seamless remote management of the device. We deeply value your recognition of the sound quality of the Motivo, as significant effort has been dedicated to achieving a "clean" and refined sonic performance right from the source. I don’t see this as an identity crisis but rather as a challenge-a challenge that, like all others, carries an inherent degree of risk. Ultimately, we leave the final judgment to our audience, who explicitly requested a product like this. Thank you once again for the balance and objectivity of your review. The PCB design, quality of output inductors and choice of MELF resistors in the feedback loop can improve the qualities of an amplifier substantially, and the 3E guys seem to know how to do that without driving the total cost too high. For those who don't like the big, external power supply there are alternatives in amplifiers with modules like Hypex NCore or ICEPower. Both with Power numbers like 200W@4 and 120W@8 Ohm for 200...300 bucks. And then there's value products like the ICEPower 1200AS2 (600W@8 Ohm per channel) for under a grand.

two suggestions from a guy whose been working with audio electronics for years: i would have tinned those wires with solder before you fed them through the holes and later when you installed the lugs off the Xover. Also i would not have twisted the xover leads that tight...the torque produced by twisting them tight is transferring all the way up the lead and is causing stress at the junction inside the component which can cause the electrolytics to fail over time. You've got the parts hunkered down well so there's no need to twist like that. If you're worried about the leads vibrating, the spots of hot glue were sufficient to dampen that. You are spot-on correct that solder won't add mechanical strength, but with the part bodies so well secured, you don't need additional support. Your soldering skills are great. Solder should REFLOW onto the joint by the heat of the material you're bonding and that's exactly what you're doing. These are not cold joints. Good form!

After watching this video i purchased these, did your mods - all of them - except also made oversized top plates using 1/2 inch Burch veneer plywood for ATC SMC20PSL's which are close to 50 pounds each and 9 x 12 at the base (in my view, too large for the 6 x 8.5 they come with). I also left the steel plates under the wood for added support. They worked out GREAT. Solid as a rock. thank you for posting this!

I like your reviews. Really. And I like tpa3255 amps. I am using them now in my system. But this one, I do not like. I'll tell you why. I've done tons of mods on many Chinese audio products for over 15 years. And I use them too. I think I know a thing or two of how they make stuff. The lower tier stuff often have great ideas but there's always some dumb mistake in there that keeps it from reaching its full potential. And one that keeps on popping up is ELCO COUPLING CAPS. Those tiny sneaky killjoys. And I see 4 of them in this one. That means you can forget any aspirations for this amp to be as scalable as, Aiyima or Fosi competition. Upgrading opamps will be a waste of money of you do not replace those tiny crap elcos with big foil capacitors. Good luck fitting that inside right next to your Burson opamps. Yes, I'm playing with Aiyima A70 mono's with Sparkos opamps, and they made some weird choices. But they don't sound bad. They're in my main system (Laiv dac+HP2a) and that is a great combination. I also have an SMSL with Infineon MA12070 where I had to remove those elco coupling caps. That sounds ok now in the bedroom. But before that... Not good. That makes this amp just right for any budget gear. But when you start to upgrade, this will soon be the weakest link.
@3eaudio6 күн бұрын
looks like if an amp can't be modify by yourself especially the coupling cap,then it is not a good one.😇

Is your smsl the same as the Loxjie-a40? What did the cap replacement improve? What's the main weakness of your Smsl before and after the cap replacement?
@Jeep_on_audio5 күн бұрын
@@3eaudio Sorry. You're totally missing the point. Your amp is a lot more expensive and has $0.10 coupling caps holding the entire product down. It doesn't matter what I can do, or could, not would... It doesn't matter. You are holding your model down. And 99% will not notice. But in the end, it's a bad move. Your product will never reach its full potential and upgrading opamps is a waste of money.

@@crazyprayingmantis5596 The elcos reduce resolution, speed, detail, air, spatial resolution. And introduce electronic hash. In short, it makes a potentially great amplifier sound like a bluetooth speaker.

I saw there are elco coupling caps in this one. That's a BIG no- no in my book. Defeats the benefit of any upgraded opamp.
@naibafabdulkobor43016 күн бұрын
I actually love the no-nonsense straight industrial look of the A5 / A7 series. 😍 It might be worth noting that not only do all the 3e Audio amps implement PFFB AND use high quality output filter coils. The A7, A5 and A7 Mono also run in Parallel Tie-bridged Load configuration, making them absolutely stable down into 2 ohm loads. If your speakers are true 8 ohm or very well behaved 4 ohm speakers, the A5se or A7se provide some reasonable cost cutting.
@Jeep_on_audio6 күн бұрын
Just too bad they use elco coupling caps. That pretty much destroys all benefits of the other things you mentioned. And if your speakers go down to 2Ω it's pretty safe to say they are badly designed.
