Although I love to see all the demonstration teams dance to perfection, this to me is what Scottish country dancing is all about. Meeting weekly in the village hall or local school and dancing the night away, with a wee cup of tea at the interval! Ah memories!

@@patriciareesby6419 Hello Pat, I’ve managed to find out….the first tune is “Joy Be Wi’ Ye” !! It’s very similar to a Gaelic Song sung by the group Cliar.

You know..?.. listening to Canadian Branches I found out,that they play a lot more authentic tunes than is in Scotland the case.And (as I already wrote elsewhere) that was due to BBC.

This was filmed at a dance held by the Lower Hutt SCD club, as mentioned above. People from clubs around Wellington and further afield attend other clubs' annual dances.
