We got lost too last weekend. There's a section where you're on a nice wide path, and the trail takes a left and it's poorly marked and tiny. :D

i did the same thing, about the same time as you!! The begining of the trail is not marked as well as it should be, plus being excited to start i kind of jumped to concussions of the trail head. Did 3 hours and about 50ft of the Batona Trail!! lol

Good job! There is a lot of wilderness to explore there, and I'm sure you will see in the future. Also, good head on both your shoulders for not getting lost! It is easy to make a wrong turn if you aren't paying attention. See you on the trail!
