Their accents are that aristocratic that they're verging on sounding totally foreign 😂 Always makes me laugh

I watched this movie with my (at the time) Mother-in-Law. She was a very critical woman, and she CRIED at this scene. For the first time, I felt from her a touch of humanity.

Another movie that is so very good in this same way is a classic called: 'NOW, VOYAGER' w/ my actual cousin Bette Davis. They quote a Walt Whitman poem in the film,. "Untold want, by life or land never granted. Now, voyager, sail thou forth to seek and find!"

Shirley Valentine was on this week which I again enjoyed learning more from the film. Loved her growth. I experienced similar going to Portugal on my own after a break up. Funny I've taped the film Now Voyager to watch, so looking forward to viewing.

The ending of this episode was one of the best and sweetest... and from a cooking show! (I always laugh at Clarissa’s reaction to the cookbook and to Jennifer’s comment about the choir in their frilled collars❤️.)

I was learning to cook when the Fat Ladies show was on the Food Network in the late 1990s (back when it was worth watching). I bought every book and still make their recipes to this day. I have no use for the Rachel Rays, Giadas, Emerils, or God forbid Sandra Lees of the world....but these Ladies were entertaining, educational and quirky enough that you couldn't take your eyes off them.
