Ours runs just fine on AC but the minute it's switched over to heat; the heat pump or to emergency it trips the breaker. Ugh. We had it installed brand new in 2023 and it's not even 18 months of us using it. I changed the batteries in the thermostat. No idea what's wrong.

I think manufacturing home furnaces are loud like this. I was told by the gas company that came out to check mine that I could insulate.But there's no room for insulation fun times. Probably gonna need a blower soon sadly. Also I do hear less noise after you did something to the wires. If I couldn't really tell what you did, or I would try it myself l o l

👍🤠!! Do you have any advice on a ECM motor. Fan runs all the time. I’ve got it down to losing 24V plug to the motor or the heat relay? It’s still under warranty but I also read I just can’t replace the module, the whole motor has to be replaced. Ugh!!!!
@ADVANHVAC

That's correct the newer motors you have to replace the entire thing.

I had problems with my Amana. I replaced the igniter and the flame detector. Didn't fix it. Then I saw that the control board flashed four times. Then I checked the continuity for the primary limit control and the auxilliary limit control. Good continuity. Then I read the wiring diagram and checked the circuit resistance for the inducer blower vacuum switch by sucking on the hose to the switch. The resistance varied from zero to 500 ohms. So I then replaced the inducer pressure switch and now my furnace works like new. The pressure switch is tied into series with the primary and auxilliary limit switches. When the pressure switch had high resistance, the igniter would not light up, or sometimes it would light up for a very short period, and even sometimes it would light the flame and then the furnace would flame out and occasionally it would work fine. A 21 year old pressure switch was a real pia.

Nonsense design. There is no where for 2” of water to drain, it just permanently sits at the base of the back cover below the secondary heat exchanger tubes. Mine only last 8 years before it sprung a leak. I was shocked to see how much rust was on the inside when I removed the cover. Hopefully I get more than 8 years out of the low grade (magnet 18-8) ss cover. Never buying a JCI product again.

If you slow down the blower do you have to worry about the heat exchanger getting too hot?
@ADVANHVAC
@ADVANHVAC 26 күн бұрын
Yes, if you slow it down too much, it could start going off at a high limit. This is why it's good to do a temperature rise. Take a probe thermometer, stick it in one of the nearest supply registers, wait about a minute, and write that number down. Then, go to the return and write that number down. The difference is your rise. You should be what the manufacturer suggests.

I thought I was going crazy. I was hearing the faint sound of screechy music like the theme from The Three Stooges or La Cucuracha. No tv, no radio - but I clearly heard goofy scratchy music. Then I realized I only heard it when the fan kicked on. Saved me a trip to the psychiatrist but had me hating the noise even more. (It's bad when you need to watch tv with the remote in your hand to constantly adjust volume.) I asked chatgpt what I should do to dull the noise and it suggested putting sound absorbing material on the walls in the laundry area or framing out a door all the way up to the vaulted ceiling. No thanks to both. Which is why I'm here. Now I need to figure out if that's the solution for me and if I can do it. I'll kind of miss my Mexican Hat Band but I'll enjoy watching tv again.

Did this same thing on a regular home HVAC system after replacing the failing blower motor with a Vevor motor. It worked great, but was very loud. Original motor was 3 speed, new one was five speed. Switched from the highest wire to the 2nd highest and reduced noise by something like 25 to 30 percent without significant airflow reduction. Only video on KZbin that pointed me in the right direction. Thank you sir!

The interior blower door for that furnace is missing, the board mounts to that. I would not touch or advise him to do JACK SHIT UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SUED! That unit came with that blower door cover due to the flue running in front of the blower and when it is in place the board mounted to it! I would have walked as soon as I saw that JACK LEG CRAP!

You can never run a natural gas furnace unvented. It's a electrocution hazard. A carbon monoxide hazard. Dancing burners, cracked heat exchanger hazard. Condemn it, give him a new one for Christmas, your KZbin Monetization will pay the wholesale cost. That's the worst I've seen ever.

I run away from those customers. Hillbilly watching KZbin trying to fix his furnace. It's not the pressure switch. Whenever I've ran across a goodman furnace that still goes out even after a flame sensor cleaning, its always the board. The ignitor wouldn't of come on if it was the pressure switch. He probably messed up the new IFC board by grounding it. Need that backing plate mounted to the blower housing.

Some coil cleaner solution would have left it like new and iit also good to remove the top and rinse it inside to outside also. I use this machine and have cleaned several AC coils inside and outside. Love that you dont have to remove the inside coils to clean with this. Spread plastic on the floor , hook up a wet dry vac to the drain and clean that thing. Very minimal water on the floor and no need to pump down and unbraise the inside coil.

I took mine apart and there was nothing wrong with the pump the problem is the screws that hold the impeller into the sump on the tank they all rusted out so the pump impeller can not build pressure to lift the water. I would suggest to any one who has one replace your screws that hold down the pump to the tank with stainless steel or brass or plastic screws. but if there already rusted out you cant remove what is left of the screws to replace them. I'm thinking of taking it apart removing the pump and the gasket and filling it with muriatic acid to eat what is left of the screws out and then clean it out and replace the screws to fix it and use it as a replacement for when the new pump I bought goes out in the future. Hope this helps.

@@ADVANHVAC awesome! I flush 2x a year but haven't changed that rod out. My 18 month old AO Smith 50 gallon started leaking up the hot water valve but was not due to installation. He didn't know the diagnosis but knew it was catastrophic when he refit the galvanized factory parts and it kept leaking. Thanks for your response!

What's the science of the anode rod failing and how it impacts the tank? How does it create a failure in your professional opinion? Great, completely unique video to a specific brand and issue..
@ADVANHVAC
@ADVANHVAC Ай бұрын
@amided1 Anode rods in water heaters serve a critical purpose in preventing corrosion and extending the life of the tank. They are typically made of a metal like magnesium, aluminum, or zinc, which is more reactive than the steel in the tank. Here’s how they work: 1. Corrosion Prevention: Water heaters are constantly exposed to water and minerals that can corrode the metal tank. The anode rod sacrifices itself to protect the tank by attracting corrosive elements that would otherwise attack the tank’s steel walls. This is called “sacrificial anode” action. 2. Electrochemical Reaction: When the water heater is operating, a mild electrochemical reaction occurs, causing the anode rod to corrode instead of the tank. The corrosive particles attack the rod because it is more reactive than the steel, effectively sparing the tank from rust. 3. Extending Heater Life: As long as the anode rod is intact, the tank is less likely to rust. This extends the life of the water heater by reducing the risk of leaks and other damage caused by corrosion. Over time, the anode rod will erode and eventually need replacement, usually every 2-5 years, depending on water quality and usage. Regularly replacing the anode rod can significantly extend the lifespan of a water heater.

Why don't they just have the button that controls the blower speed this is absolutely unbelievable I just moved into an apartment and I can't hear shit it said about 75 plus decibels. Not only should every blower have a button to switch it but you should be able to control the thing through the thermostat it makes no sense it blows my mind. I don't know what I'm going to do I have to get this thing lower. Maintenance man says he can't do it I would imagine other people have asked it because it's louder than hell he probably looked and didn't see any type of button that would switch it. I'm about ready to close off the entire return air vent. Why would they even install these like this it's pathetic.
