@Caridinaintruder what did you think of that 200?
@caridinaintruder4218Ай бұрын
It is a fun motorcycle. I just didn't like it on the long straight. I am used to short shifting with the 890 and all other 4 stroke motorcycles I've ridden. Before this video I did a couple of rounds on which the speed went down (too much traction, too little power, too low in the RPM's) on that "long" straight part. Other than that, it is a fun motorcycle and it feels a little lighter compared to the 300, making it feel more manageable.
@bartjaspers240Ай бұрын
Gaaf ding! Beviel hij een beetje?
@caridinaintruder4218Ай бұрын
@bartjaspers240Ай бұрын

@nathanbanks7091 it's a great motorcycle. Suspension feels nice and solid, the throttle response feels nice, power is nice, and it looks pretty great. The only thing I couldn't get used to during the ride was the placement of the shift lever. It's pretty far forward, so every time I tried to shift I missed it with my foot, having to look down a couple of times during the ride to "find" the lever. If I knew this in May before buying the 890ADVR, I would have bought a PR7 instead.

It was great. The bike handles pretty nice. Especially the rear brake on the left handside is a nice addition, except when your hands get tired of course. It was too bad I just got used to sitting while going through turns and could only use the bike for a few rounds, otherwise I bet my round-time would have improved a lot. Having saddled the Intruder VL800 / C800 K9 (2009 - 2020, did some 70k km) and now saddling a 2003-model one, I somewhat disagree with your cons: 1. I never really missed the 6th gear, as the (rather) short gear translated the engine power to a comfortable ride quite well. Just kick in the 5th (starting with some 50 kmph), and you have smooth and strong acceleration up until some 140 kmph, and the engine still does not scream. Ideal for city, local roads, but quite sufficient for highways, too. 2. All those plastic parts were there to make the bike less heavy, meaning you would get more power and more mileage from the same engine (here, also, carburetor vs FI is a factor). For comparison, my carburetor-operated 2003 model has 17 liter fuel tank, but my mileage is slightly lower than with my previous 2009 FI-operated model (by some 30+ km). Also the comfortable top speed is slightly lower (by some 5 kmph). 3. I never had any complaints about the stock seat on the 2009 model, but admittedly, the one on the 2003 model is slightly different and a hair less comfortable. Not a big deal for me, though. I guess comfort level of seating is always a matter of personal preference. 4. The oil change frequency never bothered me - changing it is a matter of 15 minutes anyway. More, that 6k km frequency is the recommended one, but in case of "emergency" or just being lazy, you can safely switch to / delay for a 10k km interval(-s). 5. Weird.. Both my bikes had electronic fuel gauges. BTW the 2009 model had also a selected gear indicator on its display, which the 2003 model lacks (not a big deal for me). LbnL I made a few longer trips to & through Austrian and Slovenian Alps, with fully packed saddle bags (22l each), a backpack (55l) and a GF in the rear seat. No windshield. I had zero issues, very little to no discomfort even after a full day of riding.. I'm really not sure there's many other bikes I could say the same about - and that IMHO is a testimony to overall greatess of this little beast. Ride hard & ride safe 🙂

Gotta brand new ATAS dct era. But i still did not the off road capabilitys. How do u like dct off road.
@caridinaintruder42182 жыл бұрын
First of all, congratulation on the new AT!!! The DCT helps with the stalling problem, which is a good thing for beginner offroad riders. Even experienced offroad riders may struggle with the clutch at some point, so that's all taken away. The only con is the fact you miss the clutch when you need it. For example, when loosing balance, and by accident yanking the throttle, will make the bike jump forward. So when going offroad (and even onroad), keep in mind to prevent uncontrolled throttle-action. This can also be a pro. While recording this video I lost balance at some point (not recorded), and I felt the bike tilting too far to the right to keep it up. At that point I gave a little throttle, and that made it possible to get the balance back.
@tHaH4x0r2 жыл бұрын
Great video. Just got my own 2022 AT last thursday. As offroad/dirt roads are quite scarce in NL, how do you usually find them? Just ride around and head down dirt roads that don't have signage? Or do you use apps like google maps to do some scouting before hand?
@caridinaintruder42182 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback :) ! The first part of the unpaved roads I rode were from the TET, which I ride pretty often. Next to that, I use Kurviger/ Viking to plan trips. Planning these trips, I use Street View most of the time to check for signage. But if I feel adventures (which I rarely do ;) ), I just ride around and search for unpaved tracks. Why do I not do this often: riding around searching for roads and ending up wasting gas for 2-3 unpaved sections is not really my definition of "having fun". In Noord-Babant you have more luck of finding unpaved roads without signage, but in Limburg it's pretty bad luck. You can also check with some local riders for a training or something, because they know the roads and tracks, and after following this training you could go there and ride there yourself. This is probably the most expensive solution, but riding with other people can be lots of fun (especially with people like Alex van den Broek). If you have other questions, please let me know.
