She's also a prize-winning concert pianist - no wonder she's so musical and in tune!

Yes, yes! As an instrumentalist, who loves the human voice, I have been so dismayed by the current sopranos “singing” this repertoire. The approximation of pitch and wobbly, unfocused, squally voices continuously being cast at the Met is appalling. Here we have a singer who has the whole package. It’s so exciting to hear Plonka because I thought great singing like this was over with the likes of Netrebko, Stemme, Rodvanovsky and Goerke-all of whom I cannot bear to listen to.
