This place has never taken care of their elevators. One of the elevators I remember riding before we rode a train out to Stamford in 2021 and then when we came back, it was broken within the same day. It's disgusting how they spent so much money to modernize the older elevator that only goes between floors 2 and 3 to have it be abandoned again. Yet again, Port Chester sucks so it makes sense to see a big place like this in Port Chester neglect their maintenance.I still can't believe how awful ADA enforcement is in New York State. Especially in Westchester County. The Galleria at White Plains had the same issue and Westchester Community College had an elevator out for a whole semester without reason. New York and Westchester County need stricter ADA enforcement.

I live in Hartford CT. It’s only about a 30 minute drive from Hartford to New Haven and a 2 hour train ride from New Haven to Grand Central NYC.

That's an R62A. It's slightly different from an R62.

It’s actually an R62. If you look at the roll sign on this, the destination and the borough are on the same line (which was the case on this one). An R62A would have the destination and the borough on 2 separate lines. So this is actually an R62.

@@williamscoufaras7045 You're still wrong. R62A's have Westinghouse Motors while R62's have DC Motors. Also, during a 3rd rail gap, R62 lights randomly go off. R62A lights rarely go off.

It’s actually an R62. If you look at the Roll sign, then destinations along with the borough are on the same line which signifies it being an R62. An R62A would have the destination signage on 2 lines not 1 & there wouldn’t be a comma before the borough. So therefore it’s an R62.

Knowing NY and with the crime spike going on throughout the city, I wouldn’t be surprised. Security in general throughout the city is getting much tighter bc of that.

BEA says elevators there are not smart keyed and showed me proof back in 2023, but it’s now 2024 almost 2025 and I saw Marriott Marquis Atlanta having their elevators smart keyed. So I have a feeling Marriott has a new thing that elevators in their hotels are being smart keyed.

I hope the NYC Marriott Marquis elevators NEVER get smart-locked because they can cause issues. (EX: A guest selects a floor that their room is on, taps the key to the reader, but it doesn't work). This is WHY we should stick with REGULAR keycards. The following guest floors have different locations: Sky Lobby 16, Fitness Center 23, Concierge Lounge 30, and Sky Lounge 44.

@@QuarioQuario54321 they were modded by Otis first then KONE took over and modded them again. Although there are so many hints to these originally being installed by Montgomery. The braille plates are a dead giveaway too.

Yes they repainted it! It used to be all dark blue. You actually can see it on the outer portion of the gate since they didn’t get to that side yet.

How did they get away with taking away the phones after renovation? Isn't having phones a requirement on elevators these days? Also I feel like the new chime sounds more like Thyssenkrupp than Monitor. Though yet again, it probably sounds a little different in person.

In a way, I can see why you think it sounds more newer ThyseenKrupp rather than monitor! I’m actually not sure now! I’m still leaning a little towards monitor, but maybe I’ll listen to it again next time I’m back there! And I have no idea why they took the phones out. I guess it didn’t really flush with the new stainless steel or something, but they could’ve found a decent replacement or something else to make up for it. That nonsense button could be a good candidate for that despite it being right under the door close button.
