You never mention source but I can guess from similar problems. Just now I was struggling to get my front seat back on a bench for my 4 door sedan, and after no-fit, I measured and many of the panels are over an inch-and-a-half short! These cost a ton and the wait was nearly 2 years (20 months) I did order extra vinyl and it does not really match. I do not have a professional sewing machine either, just a very old Kenmore portable I'm going to have to make work AGAIN. I already had to re-do the back seat back. (SMS in Ore.)

I bought the gel pad. Would it be mistake if I placed gel on top of seat then added a thin layer of leather as a cover? Rather not do the full seat surgery.
@AtomicAutoworksTV

the problems you will run into is you will feel the edge of the gel and most likely make it less comfortable. Also it will look really bad.

Hello, I came across your channel while trying to come up with ideas for my 1988 Volvo 244 DL door panels.. they are original non-waterproof floppy cardboard style, covered with vinyl and cloth.. You have inspired me, I thank you... I wouldn't mind making my own door panel using the original as a template... My dilemma is the panel top curves, then protrudes inward towards the glass, thus making a lip that has a window weather strip attached and a hole for the (push pull style) lock knob.. Can you lead me to one of your videos, regarding this style of panel.. This panel has two rectangular pieces of metal attached to the back, acting as a guide and a lip to hold the panel in place before pushing in all tabs. I have little talent in this area, but lots of ambition.

Not really what the video is about, but I was just wondering why half the cars on the road when I was a kid had vinyl tops, then they just vanished. No one talks about them; no one remembers. In fact, there's nothing on KZbin about the history. Strikes me as very odd. I am not saying I want a vinyl top, but they still look pretty snappy.

I wish this was a little MORE basic, like what is teh best materials, i don't know what threads to use, i am also wondering where to get the best Vinyl. I ordered a cover for my GL1500 it;s a 99 and people just do not know what they are selling is the deal . this ( these seat covers ) i got none of them fit my bike and they are all identical! the chineseum pro LOL yeah i fell for it. it is hand made and it was supposed to be 189 dollars they just kept sending repeats though when I told them it doesn't fit. now it;s too late to send back/ so i want to alter it. also, after I give this my best shot. i want to make one from scratch. this is not a flighty thought as i have a TON of bikes outback, all of them have seats much less complex than the GL1500 as they are all 70 s 60's and 80's thumpers/ sucks I am starting with my goldwing but it is my daily. i want this back to waterproof and looking nice.

Love your videos!! I’ve been doing upholstery for a year now, and just got my first industrial walking foot sewing machine that’s a lock stitch. Do you tie of your ends when your done sewing your lines? Because I notice you don’t use a back stitch. Or can I rely on my lock stitch for that? Because I’ve been tying off all my ends when I’m done sewing a line

It depends on what you're doing. Anything decorative should be tied off. Don't count on permiter sewing to lock the stitch. Don't back tack on anything you can see. Even if your machine is precise enough to hit the same hole forwards and reverse it won't look good. When doing inserts try and minimize the number of starts and stops so you have fewer knots to make. It saves time too because unless you've got an autocut machine you have to hold those tails and the setup takes a few seconds which add up. Less chance of a tail getting picked up by the machine.

Have you have any customers complain about leg circulation because of the front part of the cushion? At first i didn't have any issues with the comfort,but since for more than a year i feel extreme pain in the back of my knees every time i drive for a couple of hours. Like the metal front frame its cutting my circulation to my legs. Im thinking of buying a new seat or get a new diferent model seat to see if it has more padding.
