Maybe the offcut discs from the center of the rings can be hydraulically pressed into thinner, large enough diameter discs for further rings without destroying the crystal structure, it may also be possible to similarly punch out the centers, a local engineering works maybe?

Almost certainly a typo or misread but they actually cool down at 1c every 1 Million years. Crazy huh? That's why giving a gift of one is so romantic, it waited 4.56b years just to be given to your loved one. And if they happen to be the type that that takes a LONG time to cool down after getting angry then a Meteorite gift is even MORE appropriate.
