I wanna cry

One of the things I most like about Omori is the more you think about it, the more you realize. One person pointed out how much headspaced was centered around Mari, from purple (Mari's favorite color), being the color the characters are to watermellons (Mari's favorite fruit) being the things used to hide little treasures. One of the mods for the game (i think it was the dreamer mod, idk) kinda highlighted the cripticness of Mari in headspace. She'd say things like "and the only cost is your love!" All the time and i never payed much attention to it. But also... In the real world, by throwing away the violin (a symbol of the group's love for Sunny), he basically rejected Mari's love, and, because of that, had everything built on Mari stolen away from him. (This is just my perspective). Omori is filled with little intresting things like this. It's use of clear and meaningful symbolism allows for even the 20th playthrough to be filled with such raw energy and passion over finding the smallest of things. Honestly, i love this game and the fandom that surrounds it!

Okay, I mentioned doing an Actual Analysis so here it is! Sorry in advance kajshdakjhsdjk 0:00 the video starts with the Incident, from Basil's POV. The violin is the first thing he sees, followed by the Tulip (a representation of Sunny) and Mari's bloodied hand. Then, there's focus on Sunny's expression, with a sort of profile view that makes me think this is set when they actually hanged Mari. Sunny's shadow features Something. 0:26 to 0:49 is just a simple illustration of White Space and what it represents, but I like the focus on the Lightbulb, the symbol of repression within Sunny's mind (<-this will be important later) 0:51 shows the Neighbors' Room, and follows it up with Omori standing in front of White Space's door. I might be reading too much into it, but the contrast between the two shots makes me believe it's a symbol of how Sunny's reclusion has distanced him from his friends (side note, the small picture of Mari is there in the game itself but it specifically being drawn here makes me thing it's meant to show how Mari haunts Headspace) 1:23 shows Basil holding onto the violin picture, but one thing really stands out to me: the red text reads "everything will be okay", direcrly referencing the text in the Basil fight and how he said that phrase in the Incident itself. 1:27 is just a cute moment but it looks like the Sparkler toy and Sad Poem ability (there being infinite poems is a nice touch lol) 1:32 to 1:55 to focus on the actual lyrics for a bit, these ones really fit, Sunny at this point has gotten detached from his friends and to the player at least it might seem like he's far "crazier" than all of them, but everyone in the friend group is dealing with their own issues so it's not really productive to make that comparison. Along with that, the use of "I've been lonely and stressed out" in a moment of Sunny being AFRAID is smart, it shows both the state that he's in (STRESSED OUT being an actual emotion in the game helps with that haha) and how maybe having others by his side could help him! 2:05 others have pointed this out but Kel is the only one not holding his flower, because he rejects the description Basil gave him (I'd argue that it really DOES fit him and shows both good and bad things about him, Basil just worded it really, really poorly) 2:20 OKAY THIS SCENE, THIS SCENE. Omori lays in the same coffin that Mari does in the game. He is holding a bouquet of flowers. He wakes up due to light shining on his face, and starts to walk towards the light source, but picks up speed, sprinting towards what is revealed to be Basil. he jumps onto him and cries. This is genuinely just the whole plot of the game! You have to Save Basil. Sunny's emotional journey, his mental health, everything regarding his recovery, can only happen if you Save Basil. And, though he messed up along the way, Basil saved Sunny as well, he's the one who gave him the photo book and helped him get into Memory Lane and his words are present in the Omori fight. So Sunny (Omori) can only wake up and avoid actual death if he runs towards his friends, towards his best friend. 2:52 shows the friend group in 1. the reverse order to when you get them on your party in the game, and 2. the reverse order of the Flower scene from earlier (maybe both are intentional? Not sure). They use their respective items in a way that makes it seem like they're passing them along, which culminates in Kell's ball startling Basil and making one of his petals fall off. This shows that only with all of them together can they save Basil, and only through saving Basil can Sunny recover the Truth; Black Space coming specifically from Basil's eye seems intentional, as one of the first glimpses onto it was in the Lost Library scene, and Stranger and Basil are everyewhere in Black Space 3:37 OKAY THIS IS THE MOST GENIUS THING IN THE WHOLE VIDEO. There is a black line above Omori's head, in a way that seems to associate him to the lightbulb. With the lightbulb broken, the repression should be over, but Omori intends to keep repressing, and in a way becomes the new lightbulb. He has transcended his role as a protective measure for Sunny and became actual repression of anything remotely traumatic. 3:40 it's a small touch but Omori's expression here is different from in the game, here he looks genuinely shocked and seems to be blushing a little, I don't know if it has any deeper meaning but it's cute! 3:46 onwards, I like this take on the gang's reactions! It really makes a lot of sense, Hero's mostly conflict averse (though he would probably eventually lash out) while Aubrey immediatelly resorts to violence, and Kel's main focus is on keeping the group together. It is very much realistic considering their overall characterizations in the game itself, though the matter of if they ever actually forgive Sunny is still up in the air. 4:04 the animatic ends with a short directly on Sunny's eye, which, unlike in the rest of the video, actually has some light in it. This shows that even if things aren't doing great, they're still doing better than before, so, to be a bit cheesy, he should. He should be good this year Sorry for making such a long comment ksajdhkajhdjka, I really like this animatic and there was a lot of stuff to dig into!

A new omori animatic

The ending is a good representation of sunnys fears and I like what you did with this but I honestly like the idea of us not knowing because I feel like the game wasn't about bringing the friends together or finding out about maris death it's about acceptance of oneself and I like to believe sunny said that not for forgivness of others but a way of letting go of the past and trauma and forgiving oneself and I like to think thats why the reaction was never shown but this is just a ramble of my pov feel free to not pay attention or you can point out your own pov's
