What do you use the pods for.
@FamishedFarmАй бұрын
Hey Annette, the first year we lived here I just composted them. After a year, they were still round clumps, although the spikes had composted. That is when I tried using them as mulch. It worked on my tiger lily bed, so, that is what I do with them now.

I like that you're trying out all sorts of different things like planting carrots directly in the clay and seeing if you can find a way that works for your area. Your garden is beautiful thanks for sharing

Here is a bonus recipe I used to get all my peaches used up before they went bad. I subbed in some fresh pineapple for one of the peaches. AND, this one is from Ina Garten, so you know it is good!! www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/fresh-peach-cake-recipe-1923148

I love this! I have a snail problem that I’ve been trying to tame in my garden!❤️
@FamishedFarm2 ай бұрын
SNAILS!!! I think that is one garden pest I haven't dealt with this year. LOL
@wordwalkermomma4Ай бұрын
For one thing, snails love moisture, so don’t overwater and try to set your beds where they can drain. Also, birds will eat them, so make them welcome, with feeders and baths and nesting sites. Over time, the problem will diminish.Meanwhile, you can hunt for them in the evening with a flashlight and “relocate” them to wherever you want. Happy gardening!

ME TOO! It was a favorite lunch spot for me when I lived in Orlando. We were so sad when they closed their restaurants there. But, so happy when we moved North and there was one I could hit when driving to Milwaukee for craft shows. Now in Alabama they are part of our day trips to Huntsville! Comment with your favorite thing on the menu.

Why cant you use a hose?
@FamishedFarm3 ай бұрын
For the beetles? It just knocks them off and they fly back up and continue destroying the foliage. You can hand pick them if you have a small plant or area...just too much area in this case.
@FamishedFarm3 ай бұрын
And the hoses, even in combination would not reach that far!

I look a bit like a prize fighter in this one...I was coming down an extension ladder on our carport when the bottom slid out. I am gimping around and trying to get stuff done, but, my knee scooter is handy when I get tired. Be careful with ladders, guys!!!

Give them a chance to fix it if not ,do whatever it takes to stop them from killing your plants and you. His rights stop at the fence. He can adjust his sprayer closer to the ground and only spray on calm days.He could mow that fence line rather than spray also. I hate this for you!! If you have a way to mow you could offer to do that fence lineon his side

Contact the neighbor or report them! Also will be hard on you! Could cause cancer! So rude of them!
@FamishedFarm5 ай бұрын
I get where you are coming from, but, considering I spent the first 12 years of my life surrounded by conventionally grown corn and soy beans, that ship has already sailed. Plus they were here first and that would not be neighborly. I am not trying to stop them spraying, I am trying to fix the problem without making waves! 😉

I am going along on this journey myself. Therefore your channel really spoke to me. I have rearranged my freezer areas so that I can use up many of the foods that need to be used up. I look forward to your next video. Thank you. My name is Pat and I am 77 years old and live alone in SE Illinois.

Another ingredient I would like to use up...TVP in beef and chicken flavor (I like neither but I understand if you soak it in enough hot water you can get rid of the artificial taste) and wish I had bought unflavored.
