Real interesting. We are developing a solar plant in Canada. The county asked many questions about the fact that the plant would use up good agriculture land. We are now working on including agrivoltaic to the design, and partner up with local agriculture college to monitor different crop types.

Hello: In the past when I lived in Lake Isabella,CAlifornia that is about 150 miles from Death Valley,California I had a DIY small Agrivoltaics/shade house combined where the solar panels where to produce the electrical power needs for the Off grid shade house. This was five years ago. At that time I was a small market grower for a year round farmers market. We produced green fodder year around for 600 chickens, 7 cows,100 meat and dairy goats does. We used the green fodder to mix with hay to make it more palatable. Our summer crops rare melons, and bell peppers. We raised fava beans in a long grown season spring, fall, winter. In the fall/winter raised rare greens. We sold organic eggs year round. We also had a few test plots where we where working with different strains of Alfalfa. We did crop rotation and planted cover crops, we started out with lots of rock and sandy soil. Are shade house was very simple 12 ‘x 20’ portable and moveable. A metal moveable frame at its center peak it was 14’ high. The solar panels where movable and adjustable we opened the solar panel’s up to get natural morning sunlight and opened for rain in the fall/winter on the fava bean crop. Raising both fava beans and cowpeas improved the desert soil. I want get reactive with a DIY Agrivotaics project in 2022 in both the Sacramento,CA and Reno,NV Area.

43:03 what about hybrid PVT panels? The thermal energy collected by the heat energy abosorbed on the back of the PV can be used to power a solar vapor absorption chiller/refrigerator

berry hoops cost $18,000 an acre. I'm guessing you can build metal support structures for solar panels for around that same price or maybe even cheaper? It's a no-brainer to build these for berries. And if that allows you to grow berries on cheaper land in the desert, even more upside. Driscolls = SKRILLscolls.

40:54 sounds like driscolls to me. I'm guessing they see agrivoltaics on berry hoops as a way to go from expensive coastal ventura county to inland desert like Imperial or maybe even the high desert

I want to build an agrivoltaic pilot in the high desert region of Southern California to see if it makes marginal desert land more farmable.
