I like how he is really jumping free and because he wants to. It is incredibly difficult to force a horse to do so. Horses love to play and jump.

I have a question for you young lady! I am trying to teach my mare to lie down and have been cuing both the legs and the underbelly as if I were a fly. Trying to kick in their natural instinct to kick at the fly ect ect. But she is just ignoring my tickles on ALL legs AND belly. Can you help?

This is such heavy-handed riding. Is it dressage? Doesn't look comfortable fir the horse and it makes me sad.

Also this horse likes to lean and duck below the forhand, Im seeing that issue much more on the bitless

Couple things you cant decide weather or not to go bitless based on a single horses example, all horses are different and not all will end up thriving in a bitless like some will

The film shows that you are a great trainer and vaulter! How long would it take you to train a horse enough to run over a person without wrapping it in a carpet, etc.??????

Honestly I think you should remove this video the sheer fact that you think this method is to teach a horse to lay down speaks volume about your experience level. It’s not a good look to people who actually know how to start colts, really train green horses and do real training everything I have seen so far just shows how narrow your training knowledge is as in continuing the education of what is already considered a push button horse with a wealth of excellent training as seen with the show jumping… Not trying to be rude or shame you like you are doing to the cowboy (who clearly is very experienced demonstrating the lay down with excellent technique) just being honest. If you were one of my students, family or friend I’d tell them the same thing. It’s ignorant, uneducated, and 100% assumptions that are false. To prove my point I’d love to hear what YOUR method of training would be to correct a horse that is known to charge, kick and bite it’s handler????

I totally hear you in reference to simply teaching a horse to lay down. The ONLY ONLY reason someone should ever maybe consider “the rope lay down” is for aggressive horses it’s NOT for teaching a horse to lay down . Its to change the power dynamic with an aggressive or dangerous horse who will s struggling to except the human as alpha. A small community has voiced it to be useful for anxious horses to supposedly “face their fears” but I’m not sure how accurate or beneficial of a technique it is for that tho.

I want to teach my horse to bow and I watched a few vids with the rope method. That you for putting in perspective how risky that first method is, not only to your hose physically, but emotionally as well. You could try this and lose any trust you’ve gained!

I've heard that horses that are trained to do stuff like this for movies are so proud of their talent, that they'll go up to cast and crew members outside of filming areas and do stunt falls to show off their trick.
