Awesome! I'm a firm believer if you want to catch big brookies, you have to nymph. Nymphs on a #14 hook with a 3.0mm tungsten bead have gotten the job done for me quite a few times.

Hi Greg Just found your Utube channel by viewing some of the comments on Hardman fly fishing. You made a comment telling Jon glad he got some use out of the streamer he fish on his last video. Do you tie this streamer? I watched your video on ---Streamer Fishing for Small Stream Brown Trout---and saw you were using that streamer Jon was using---I am interested in this streamer and wondering can you tie it a little smaller than the one you were using? 2 1/2 to 3" would be the size I am interested in ----thanks

Hey there Greg. I love your videos. They remind me of 30 years ago we use to pull out topo maps of the national forest and track down every fishable stream within 50 miles of home. I've been there when the fall when the leaves dam up the bottom of the holes and the trout spawn under the leafy canopy. I'm all about the Brookies! Thanks for all the videos and by the way you have a great cast. Glenn

Incredible brookie. Just moved to WV and can’t wait to make a trip out to some native brook trout streams. I’m in Charleston so it’ll be quite the drive, but worth it

Love that creek and all of those tribs. Good people down there and some are very poor financially but great folks.
@wvlongshooter39122 жыл бұрын
Was on that creek the other day and some guy had several trout on a stringer. He was using night crawlers, had no teeth and was arrogant. Hated seeing these wild fish on a stringer. Roughly counted 7 fish on his stringer!!!

Anyone, what leader length is best for streamers in creeks this size?? Thanks!!
@mountaingoatgreg16912 жыл бұрын
I usually go 6ft because you can get more control/accuracy. If the water is clear you might have to lengthen to 8 or 9ft so the fish dont get spooked by the fly line

First time watching . Awesome video. I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia. Still have a couple of properties there. I started fishing late in life. Don't know where the time has gone. Fish as often as you can. There is no better solace in life than to spend the day on a babbling creek in the mountains of West Virginia.

I have always heard great things about the Nipigon River in NY. However, Appalachian fishermen have trophy size trout all the way to Georgia. I released a record Brook Trout once... Not knowing Brook Trout don't normally get as big as Rainbows and Browns. The secret is the tributaries of the Chattahoochee and Chestatee Rivers. Waters and Dicks Creeks are a great place to start. The Chattahoochee below the dam of Lake Lanier is a great for chartered trips.
