I 've found that when I need to add something like bevel, extrude or similar topology change, add another "edit poly" modifier, rename it to the occuring change "e.g. Bevel edit" so, can work non-destructively, even delete the modifier if I want to! (along with poly selection set!) welldone!

Damn. The Inflate function of Spacedraw, a 3D Modeler on Android does amazing tubes. You can create a sphere, a spline, a cube, whatever shape, and it'll inflate in tubes all the segments and create perfect weldings. Even if 10 tubes weld in the same place. When you modify the shape steps (roundness of the tubes), it'll modify the welds accordingly. Spacedraw is made by ONE programmer alone. And 3DSMax, after close to 20 years since 3DStudio DOS, can't fucking do that....

You fucking run through the tutorial like everyone is pro with this wtf is wrong with you?

well...I was hoping for a magic button, but I guess I just have to put the time in model it like you did.
@HanSolocambo8 жыл бұрын
Use Spacedraw to do this kind of things. Inflate function. It's automatic and you make waaaaay more complex tubes and intersections in literally one clic.

why do you keep those TRIS ?? delete some edges , and the mesh looks like better
@onnovanbraam9 жыл бұрын
guillermo puertas What more would that accomplish other than 'technically being better'? It would take a lot more time and the end result would be exactly the same.
@neo_riderYt9 жыл бұрын
onnovanbraam , because you must to use quads, not tris. and you need the same time :/
@onnovanbraam9 жыл бұрын
Why must I use quads? Do you actually have an argument, other than that you think it's better? I know when, where and why to use quads I think. In this case messiness actually adds to the look of the welds, so I would almost say tri's are be better.
@thesecondantagoniser40089 жыл бұрын
guillermo puertas Tris are perfectly fine unless you're developing an asset that requires deformation while animating (for instance, a vertex or multiple vertices moving on a single element) - than it's important to focus on quads, otherwise tri's are perfectly fine especially on an asset like this that wouldn't deform during animation, assuming you'd want to animate it. You can still make a good looking model containing tri's.
@fzfletch18909 жыл бұрын
+TheSecondAntagoniser Sorry to hop in late, but sometimes tris are actually beneficial for deformation if strategically placed along the sides of joints that will only bend in one direction, in character meshes for example, for knees and elbows. Helps to build up more quads to deform on the front side, a knee for example, and keep quads minimal on the surface behind so that there's not too much geometry folding in on itself. But anyways, from a rendering and efficiency standpoint, as was the initial argument here, yeah, tris are fine. Many game engines actually 'triangulate' meshes made of quads during the import process anyway.

thanks, this helped. for once i have to admit it was nice to not have to wait for someone to have to explain every little thing they did when all i wanted was the important aspects, which you did say. all id negatively say is maybe alter the title or description to say that this isn't for complete beginners as I can see why they would have no chance following this properly.
