I got a question. If i have starter locs do i need to go to a loctician to get them tightened or is there a method to retwist them myself?
@hairbylarose2 күн бұрын
It’s possible to retwist them yourself. It’s recommended to go back to the stylist or loctician because the first year is important for shaping your locs after they’re matured it’s easier for people to do retwist at home because you don’t have to worry about shaping, snagging, holes, or retwisting the wrong direction. Stuff like that.

How does a grown up person allow their hair to get to this point?…
@hairbylarose16 күн бұрын
@KayHardmon He wasn’t a grown up but most grown ups that hair get to this point they were are coming out of depression and other illnesses, and financial Issues. I typically don’t ask because none of these can be easy to talk about. I just make sure they feel good about their hair when they leave

As stylist we are exposed to a lot and you’ll be amazed at the fact there wasn’t a lot of dirt that came from them it looked like once they got matted they didn’t know what to do and kept washing and put putting it into the same ponytail it was just a lot of lint wrappings around the locs that had to be picked out. So probably From clothing and bedding I’ve seen worst build up of dirt where there was no matting. This one almost clear water after one wash.

Oil alone is not going to fix if your hair is dry. It's dehydrated. I know you don't want to mess up your braids so I have something for that too. But It's the same if we are dehydrated we need water. There are a few other vitamins we need as well but water is the main source. It's the same with hair. Hair can be hydrated by washing your hair more often or by adding a water based hydrating mist to your daily regimen. If you do the mist and you're scared of frizz spray and tie it down until dry's. There's hydrating Mist & Leave in conditioners readily available. If you want the one I use click the Shop Link or visit my Website

This is the exact same style that my daughter has to have for her National cheer competition. I’m gonna try to pull it off. This video definitely helps.
@hairbylaroseАй бұрын
@@staceycollins4366 That is going to be super cute as a cheer hairstyle. Are they adding their bows if so I wouldn’t wrap the braid as thick or not at all so it doesn’t fall. After you do the rubber band just do her bow. That will hide the bands and no chance of anything falling in the competition. I know at ours there would be points off for uniform or hair malfunctions.

Ànd i was just about to ask you how to wash and control synthetic hair 😊
@hairbylarose2 ай бұрын
@colleen9580 😂😂 You can wash it it has to be done like baby doll hair though (use a pod or softener). You don’t want to use regular shampoo and conditioner.
@hairbylarose2 ай бұрын
And for control less is more when you’re dealing with any extension. Synthetic the trick is keeping it having slip without being greasy. So like shine spray but not an oil sheen or heavy mousses

Really enjoyed your video. My question is when you do the takedown why is there so much hair loss?
@hairbylarose2 ай бұрын
@@terrifrye670 Heyy! I’m glad you enjoyed it. This can be from a couple of things 1.)How long the style was in. 💎We loose anywhere from 50-100 strands a day. So if you’re on the higher end and keep them in long it may seem like a lot, but normal. 2.) How it was taken down. 💎 During the time of keeping it in we have build up from the environment, hair products, and dandruff. That build up hardens over time. If it’s not softened first before taking it down you can be taking some hair with it. 3.) Lastly How was your install done. Was it the right foundation for the hair installed. 💎 a braided base that is not the right size or braided in the right direction for your hair can lead to unnecessary breakage. So if you have weak edges and you do an install starting at the front edges without adjustments there will be more hair loss. I hope this helps I’m doing more videos on the crochet questions with visuals to help you all.

How do you know or find which hair styles for crochets on 4c hair
@hairbylarose2 ай бұрын
@@barbarasmith6438 The curl pattern of your hair doesn’t really matter for crochets. The thing to think about is the density of your hair (how many strands you have on your head) so how thick or thin your hair is. If your hair is really thick it can handle more weight versus someone who has thin hair. People with thin hair need to stick to loose hair crochets, short twist or locs. Box braids are typically a no for thin hair.
@hairbylarose2 ай бұрын
@@barbarasmith6438 I will do a video on this one too showing different types of crochets for different densities it may help better to see how the hair looks.
