I’d be willing to bet if he was able to keep it alive, then it would’ve probably beat the 19-10 that was mentioned for the Mexican record

There were several shows that hawked lakes in Mexico and Cuba back in the late 70s into the eary 80s and all we heard from the guys who fished them that the next world record largemouth was going to be caught there. A lot of money was spent by US anglers going to these waters and now well over 40 years later we're still waiting for that record fish.

Wow. I doubt anyone will beat Perry's non hybrid bass. Non hybrid is everything when it comes to these largemouth. A twenty two pound straight black bass is just an genetic freak. There's probably one or two out there, but will probably never be caught. That being said... Wow. The catch of a lifetime, from a lifetime of fishing. 90% will never even see a fish like that 19 pounder.

That is a big bass but if someone is saying that is the "biggest" fish they have ever seen then they need to quit fishing for bass and target something like catfish, alligator gar or lots of types of saltwater fish. I have never been able to understand the love affair with bass when there are so many other species that grow a lot bigger.
