Obviously, he didn't stand a chance, but props to him for starting this later in life and really battling with you. The sport is already hard enough on the body let alone doing it after 45 or 50, however old he is. He looked good, too.

If every round is a light round is it really a light round or is just a round lol. Nice videos! How do you get so much footage of yourself? I'm the one always filming at the gym I train at, the only way I get footage of myself is to bring a tripod lol.

Why not just call it a roll? This is a normal jiu jitsu round. Don't belittle yourself by calling your work "light rounds"

I’m just a white belt, but is it not better to hit the von flue choke from side control? And then mount when he lets go of the guillotine?

Highly recommend not pulling people into a back take when they are on their knees upright forcing them to go over their heels. Pull to the side, not directly back to avoid injuring your sparring partner. OSS.

@derrickrobinson72698 ай бұрын
Hey, just an observation at 1:50 what made you go for a backstep instead of sitting your base back to address his collar grip before re-engaging? also before that when you were in chest-to-chest Half Guard, what was stopping you from pulling in your crossface towards your knee? Was he too strong? If you could've done that it would make his posture weaker (side crunching) vs making your posture stronger (elbow closer to your body) and makes it easier to put in a foot staple. Just my un-asked for opinion though. great roll regardless, been watching you from your blue belt days.

Hey man, I've been subscribed for a long ass time and I often watch your videos for inspiration. Don't always comment, but regardless a HUGE congratulations to you for earning your purple belt, man! It's been fascinating to watch you grow. Thank you for all the content🙏🏽

Thank you. It’s literally just videos of me losing position and getting submitted over and over and over, but thank you. People don’t usually tell me “good job” anymore.

@@ajcosper well, you're not wrong lol. I'm not a world class athlete, just an average one. Though there are a lot of videos on world class matches, the normal day to day average roll footage also matters. In fact, I think it matters more as I get to see reactions, counters, missed opportunities etc from normal people. If you get what I'm saying

props to posting despite the loss! Takes guts to get on the matt and to post this. From what I can see, work on some mount escapes and string them together, so you can threaten two. Hope you're still training and competing!
