Hmmm... Afraid I didn't test to see if the off lever worked on bedrock edition. My first guess is maybe the jukebox block doesn't count as a solid block in bedrock edition, so the lever on the jukebox doesn't send a redstone signal through the jukebox to lock the hopper. You could try placing the lever on the floor next to the hopper and see if it will lock the hopper that way.

Yes it will. You'll just hear the droppers click a few times as the disc goes through the item loop back to the jukebox.

I've still only been playing with the default controls. (A = accelerate, B = reverse, X = use powerup, right shoulder button = power slide) I did briefly try rebinding controls using the in game settings, but the game wouldn't recognize some inputs such as the left and right triggers which I wanted to use for accelerate and reverse. So it looks like your best option is to set up a Steam input profile if you want to rebind controls to use any of all the buttons on the steam deck. It might even have been I couldn't rebind the triggers, because steam input defaults to a "keyboard and mouse" setup for unsupported games. So it might be as simple as changing the input profile to full gamepad instead of kb&m.

@@rattmannslab Interesting! I didn't change a thing and no inputs worked from the get-go. I might explore a bit more and see what is going on. I know in game you can select "game-pad" or "kb&m". I wonder if I just need to remap the steam profile to what you are mentioning. Sick video. So helpful!

You mean if it's at a different Y: level? That shouldn't matter as long as all the blocks are placed correctly.

The only "solution" I found was to uninstall Marine Mania :( The maintenance workers work perfectly as intended in base Zoo Tycoon and Dinosaur Digs, but as soon as you install Marine Mania they break unfortunately :(

UPDATE: I just stumbled upon a way to fix the maintenance workers!!! Updated "How to" video coming soon after I do some testing to make sure I understand what I did and how to explain it.

Sounds like the hopper is getting powered somehow (redstone power locks hoppers). Perhaps you've got the on/off lever that's on the jukebox in the ON position (which would be powering the hopper below)?

Actually it's 2 droppers. You don't need dispensers at all. In fact dispensers won't work properly.

The hopper underneath the jukebox automatically takes the disc as soon as it finishes playing.

I did try installing the Complete Collection directly on my Steam Deck from a Disc, and the bug was still happening for me. :'(

I just did a test with ONLY base Zoo Tycoon installed on my Steam Deck, and the maintenance workers were working just fine! :D I'm about to do a test with just the Dino Digs expansion installed (No Marine Mania) to see if they still work then.

Maintenance workers worked fine in Dinosaur Digs as well. Sadly this bug seems to only effect Marine Mania on Steam Deck.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm feeling a little burnt-out on troubleshooting this problem now, but I'll try to share any other solutions if I find the motivation to try again in the future.

Are you playing just the base Zoo Tycoon? Or do you have any of the expansions installed (Dinosaur Digs, Marine Mania)?

I downloaded the complete collection to my pc copied the file over to the steam deck put the patch in and it works fine on the pc but I added the game forced it to play and deleted the intro scenes. It loads and everything works but the maintenance workers. The option to click a box for their activity disappeared.

Yeah, I just checked on my Steam Deck and those boxes are missing for me too. I also checked on my Windows PC and those boxes worked fine. So it seems like it's a bug caused by Linux/Proton. Afraid I don't have an answer for this bug right now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'll let you know if I do find a fix for it.

Steam deck has a built-in shortcut for bringing up the keyboard. It's the SteamButton+X If you hold down the Steam Button for a bit a list of the shortcuts should show up on screen. I would recommend memorizing most of these shortcuts. They are very helpful when trying to play keyboard/mouse based games on your steam deck.

Double check that you placed the observers correctly. I've got a new video explaining their placement more clearly if that would help.

It should. But there's always a chance the server owner might have something in place to prevent chunk loaders from working because they can easily be exploited to lag or crash servers.
