Thank you so much for putting out this video so I could easily see the guts of the DolphinBar before trying to open it, myself -- because of this, me & my mOm successfully fixed the wires and got the LEDs glowin' again, woop woop!

Nice bit of kit, but £25,000? Still, very interesting repair video. Thank you.

It's not a particularly nice piece of kit to be honest. I used to build similar back in the early 80s. I doubt it costs Mr Evans even £250 to build all-in.

Well not sure how this youtube commenting works, but I realy do enjoy watching people fix interesting electronics. I guess what caught my attention was the £25,000 pre amp repair title. I agree, the does not look to be 25 grand of electronics in it, but I guess its more about it being hand built and the design, never seens so many tants on one board before, let alone the op amp chain. I prefer valves myself, but to each his own. But that case!! that was something else, so stylish, such a shame it was so damaged. Well thats my shillings worth, must dash, someone is waiting to use the phone :)

The entire bottom of the MOSFET chip is soldered to the ground that's why it takes more heat to take off

Setup was pretty straightforward. I do a lot of work on these kinds of projects. Got a new video dropping tomorrow for beginners. I'd love to know how you got that animation on there! Do show. I think that would make for a very viral video! you earned yourself another sub! :)

You're right. i do have a couple of effects layered on top of each other and I haven't explained that part. It really is pretty simple to do as well.

So which 5mm IR LEDs work as replacements? I didn't have any luck with Radioshack 2760143
@haxorflakes3 жыл бұрын
Just about any should work, If I remember correctly the forward voltage of each led is around 1.5 volts. I just used some I had laying around I don't remember the exact details of them. Also make sure they are installed correctly. The negative has a flat spot on the side of the diffuser.
