It's really silly to argue this. If we all stopped using things that were tainted by immoral practices everything would he at a standstill. It's too reductive to say that a product that fuels hundred or thousands of peoples wages is wholly bad or wholly good. I'm also rather tired of the argument that it falls on je consumer to fix the problem. Rather than the corporation or persons who are actually responsible. You can't pick a fight with a company can you? So you take it out on one random person on the internet. It's just bad politics to me.

Censorship of themes is nothing new for influencer agreements, especially bigger company sponsorships I've done. actually don't know anything about the toxicity/harassment you're referring to, but I'll check it out. Been waiting for the game since the initial trailer and was gonna play it anyway 🤷‍♂️

@@xixDan parroting the popular 'There Is No Ethical Consumption Under Capitalism' isn't the "gotcha" you think it is. lobos isn't a "random person on the internet", he's a content creator/influencer who does this for a living. what is played in his own time and his own opinions are one thing, but when it's played for the entertainment of others, and thus promoted (whether through formal sponsorships or just exposure of "I like game, I play game") for a broader audience. as such, it's well within the scope of those who have followed and enjoyed the streams and content for a short or long while to voice their displeasure when what's on offer isn't to their tastes.

@@LobosjrGaming considering you've already put a 2nd stream up for it, I have my doubts, but if nothing else know that fan overreaction to an IGN report from last year by rebekah valentine unearthing all manner of uncouth behavior in the history of the developers, with solid receipts and analysis, led to her being chased off twitter. so that's the kind of studio PR you're courting, and the sort of fanbase you're attracting by giving the game exposure. I mean come on, without hesitation you gladly took a dump on JKR when asked about THAT game; is it different this time just because you've been looking forward to it for a long time? is that where the line really sits?

@@Cidriel I saw that the lead artist said some stupid stuff about 'women shouldn't be playing video games' and seeming to be pretty anti-trans. that is gross and I will happily point at that and say it is gross. I admittedly had no interest in playing Harry Potter, so there was no issue there. I find issues with the devs and the game as separate. If the game contains harmful rhetoric within that I disagree with, then that is the reason for me to not want to play the game. a game like this has many people involved, and almost any company that size will have people who should be called out for terrible views. maybe it's just bc I worked in the games industry and I saw when a lot of heat came in, mostly innocent passionate devs suffered because of it, as opposed to the higher ups and leads that were problematic. the unfortunate reality is that dedicated people who aren't of the same mind get the punishment a lot of the time. do I give people the benefit of the doubt too much? maybe. but to believe otherwise is soul-crushing, if more realistic

The character looks like he would have a deep voice, but instead his voice is very nasal, it sounds like a voice you would associate with a conniving thief or a mischievous character. Maybe that fits his character I don't know.

​@@alenezi989a3at least in the actual Journey to the West story, Wukong is super wily and mischievous. So much so that Tripitaka, the monk that Wukong is supposed to be helping get to India, has to get a magic mind control device from the god/goddess Avalokiteśvara (Guanyin) just to keep Wukong on track and stop him from murdering bandits for fun lol. So yeah, mischievous/ conniving thief voice is very fitting for Sun Wukong. I haven't read the whole of Journey to the West, but at least in the beginning Wukong is very selfish and rowdy, to the point of being a bit of a nuisance for the other characters until Avalokiteśvara/Guanyin gets him under control.
