Hi, I am trying to switch careers, and people says that` starting out with stats is important to actually know the data and what to do with it. I was doing a project and I did the basic stuff like cleaning, formatting the data types, and other things, after those steps, I really had no idea how to really analyze the data

Hi, Christine I am glad I came across your KZbin channel. Your video on creating a portfolio really helped me a lot. I need clarification regarding how to write a cover letter as someone who has never worked in an organisation before

Hi Christine!! OMG your cover letter trick actually worked and it helped me move onto the next round for the BI Analyst role. Where it's now an online assessment testing on logic, math, and critical reasoning. Thank you, and for those thinking if this cover letter worked, YES, it did!! Give that a try! :)

Hi Christine, Thank you for the video, it was very inspirational. I took out 2 days and made something. I liked you idea about using GitHub but I don't have a lot of contributions on my personal GitHub repos. If a hiring manager were to see the contributions, do you think it would make a negative impact? In that case, do you think it is beneficial to spend a little more time and create a portfolio website?

very good video! Random opinion: I feel the "Identify critical vs non-critical" should comes first before "Identify measures and dimensions" , if I am classifying data with hundreds of columns, it does not make sense to start Identifying each column to know if its quantitative or qualitative, why not select the columns we want to work with first? This is just my opinion, does it make sense?

Hi, Christine. This video came at a really good time as I'm about to apply to a Junior Data Analyst role. I need clarification on something tho. Which would you prefer: a cover letter sent as a document to the recruiter's email or it should rather be in the email's body??
@christinejiangdata4 күн бұрын
in most cases, the cover letter should be sent with the application through the job portal (linkedin or the company's site) - but if you're in direct contact with the recruiter, i would send the cover letter directly in the email body. it's the concept of everything being "one click away" - maximize the chance that someone will read the important stuff. just adjust the cover letter for the email format, i.e. Dear ____, Hope this email finds you well! [Transition into cover letter]. good luck with apps and lmk how it goes!

As always, great video with practical steps and insights. Totally agree with you, as a Data Analyst you shouldn't shy away from data cleaning tasks as it's the first step to ensuring you come out with meaningful data-driven insights to your stakeholders on any level. Recently, I undertook a data cleaning and transformation task as part of the initial stages of a data analyst role for which I applied. Used pandas in jupyter notebooks for the task and made sure I numbered each stage of the process and provided comments on the functions and steps used. Thank you Christine 👍👌

Hi Christine! I have been a fan of your channel - great contents! I have 3 questions for you regarding this video: 1. Where should I include the data cleaning changelog table section in my portfolio project? (Like what section in the README document in Github?) 2. When you talked about asking questions and discussing about unsolvable data issues with a team member and let's say I have that option, who should that person be (data entry person, the salesperson who is in charge of that data, a data engineer, my manager, stakeholders) and what answer can I realistically expect to get from them (they will give me an updated database/data record or say that the correct data is not found or suggest me to clean the data in a certain way)? 3. From my own research, I see DA job interview questions about data collection as a data analyst. I just wonder if data collection and data cleaning are considered 2 different process, or data cleaning is a part of data collection or what their relationship is. Thank you! And I look forward to watching more of your videos!

Wow, wow, wow!! OMG, this is like having free industry-based data analyst personal coach by my side. A lot of the things you mentioned in this video were not taught when I was taking courses at college. I really appreciated it, it took me 1 hour to watch the vlog and take copious amounts of notes because I believe this will serve me well in my portfolio projects as I prepare to land my first data analyst job! Thank you so much, your videos are so helpful to a beginner data analyst like myself! ♥♥

Hey christine ...please do a video on how you can connect or gain access to companies databases /data ...like vpn and all ways ... because many people don't know how to gain access to companies data if you are working remote/ freelancing ...its a very small thing but most people have many doibts regarding it and find it little technical .

i hear you. the reason why the cohort isn't available in asia is because the meeting times are often difficult for students in that time zone - but i do make exceptions for exceptionally ambitious applicants. if you're inclined, you can bypass the screening by picking a different country and continuing with the application there :)
