Greetings Mack, from a fellow Fiddler. Most of my playing involves Irish Tunes, but I do some Folk. Can I ask you a question? How do you play so fast? Specifically, left-hand technique on the fingerboard. Do you have any tips for Fiddlers who want to increase their playing speed? I agree with the Aussie who commented earlier. Bow technique alone does not make a good Fiddler.

Hey there, just wanted to let you know this isn't his personal channel, just a recording but he has a duo called The High Quadra Ramblers now. I think the folk fiddle hold helps a lot. It seems like it gives you more flexibility in the fingers because you're resting on your wrist, and you can focus on the rhythym bowing aswell. Everything is in first position mostly.

Used to listen this 10 years ago when i first started playing. 10 years later it just popped into my mind for whatever reason. Had to search a bit to find it. 40k views? Shame. It is just as good as when i first heard it. Playing with soul. Hope this guy is doing okay.

All these people who run and never have or never take the time, alas, do they know what they are missing ? And yet it is there all life! is not it ? I love this beautiful song, each version of which is always different but each time beautiful 😍 this man would have deserved a little love and recognition, isn't it in the exchange and the gratitude that the man really exists ? Ohmygod. He's on the Drive. My old east end Vancouver hood. The ghost of my earlier self had already long departed, some 18 years hence. Used to play up and down that street. La Quena. Broadway Express. And some other joint in between whose name I can't remember. Never busked (except one time only outside an LCBO down in the West End.) I was really paying attention to that left-hand finger pluck this time around. The bow looks a bit healthier too. Fantastic as always.
