It’s good to see real world examples (although there are no people in the venue which has a significant effect on the sound as we all know), so plenty of props for that bro. I have the set below yours (DSR115/DXS18) and currently scoping out the DZR12 to replace my old , but trusty, Turbosound TQ 445dp. Have always thought about the DZR15 but have heard mixed views on how much of a step up is it really from the DSR? In my view/experience however, having the speakers in front of a stage, can result in loss of some of the sound, due to acoustics, behind you and into the recess. I would normally, subject to other factors such as location of doors/fire exits etc, put the speakers in the corner to gain extra bass, volume and direction from the walls. I would centre cluster the bins to benefit from the coupling effect. Notwithstanding, I do find that rooms with a curved roof benefits the sound and you get more throw due to the physics (I was in a fairly similar shaped room on Saturday- although it had other challenges). Anyway, took advantage of being stimulated by your video. Keep up the good work. Btw, where in the UK are you (in general) I’m in North London?

@@manchah1 cheers bro very much appreciated 🙏 These test's I do are real life I really have no idea how it'll pan out you can only go so far looking at the data sheet and applying tricks you've picked up along the way to help get the most out of a setup. As you mentioned putting subs against a wall/corner channelling all that pressure in one direction towards the dance floor and running a delay if mid high are ahead to keep everything all in phase. But sometimes the layout of the venue doesn't allow for best speaker management. The dsr15 were good then came along the dzr15 I have used them in a large venue and pretty much full and they done alright obviously a dedicated sub aswell would of been even better but you've got to look at what your using and how well/not it does the job like in this case.

I would of coupled them together but would mean using a tripod for the 206A more gear to carry, extra wiring, longer time packing up. I wanted to use them in their simplest form to get to now how they perform in a basic setup.

Very nice review! I keep reading many great things about DZR... unlike other PAs of yesteryear - clean, clear, neutral, flat, accurate, nice, etc.) (I used to rent PAs for small parties in the 00s... and always thought they mad scratchy/harsh mids & highs and lacked any bass w/out sub) Anyways... you ever try using these as home speakers, 3'-10' listening distance and.or low volume? You think the DZR (no sub) can replace/pass for a Hi-Fi 12” or 15" speaker system for home-use or music-listening-room? Clarity, clean, neutral and detail wise. Looking for cheaper alternative to expensive JBL L100 Classic, JBL 4349, or Klipsch Cornwall/Forte speakers. Wondering if DZR could be a nice, cheaper alternative to expensive HiFi speakers/amp. Any hiss or noise while turned On, at idle, w/ no music playing? Currently, use cheapy Yamaha HS8 monitors for music-listening and love them, but wanna upgrade to 12” or 15” speakers for a bigger “live sound” (but still need good sound quality & clarity)… wondering if the DZR are as clear, clean, flat, accurate, neutral sounding as studio monitors (I've heard they sound like studio monitors, but just giant). How does the DZR sound at low volumes? Or, listening to them from a 3’-10’ listening distance? My small music-listening-room is a two-car garage, 23’ x 23’ (roughly 50m2) Any help appreciated.
@colinmobiledisco8661Ай бұрын
Thanks mate, can the DZR pass for house speaker sure depending what your looking for. If you want quality like B&W hifi speaker then no as the these high quality hifi speaker are built for that purpose where you can pick out every instrument in detail. But at low level and with fine tuning they are great and hold the quality very well at high levels without dropping off for sustained periods of course that's if your using them correctly and not pushing them beyond their limits. If people are pushing their speaker beyond their limits its because of 2 reasons 1 there're unclear of what they are doing, 2 the setup for that venue is not big enough. In summary I have used these the dzr15 in small and large venues and had no issues what so ever, obviously you can't beat using subs and mid-highs all depends on your purpose you intend using them for. Hope that's been of some help.
