Describing people as genius is so over used. Alex was a genius. I hope he's resting peacefully as he never got that in life.

I will always love alex higgens , he was not the best positional player and sometimes he would force the cue ball , but he was electric and entertaining.😊

It was Alex Hurricane Higgins that got the sport on the map especially in the 70s and 80s. I was so lucky enough to goto a tournament and see him play.

Higgins tends to be an emotional choice for snooker fans, because he himself was so emotional. Amazing to watch in his good moments but generally average, owing to impatience and reckless cue ball control. People get in a rage (irrational childish people) when they are reminded that Davis was better, John Higgins was way better, and Hendry and O'Sullivan will be remembered as being in a different league.

Did you not hear the commentator say, "Alex playing like his old self now. Brilliant snooker"? And who is raging - you're also very wide of the mark there.

Alex higgins was absolutely phenomenal 👏 😍 🙌 He could have been world champion 🏆 maybe another few times I think that he inspired ronnie o'sullivan It was a shame that he left his health deteriorate If he quit smoking and alcohol earlier in his life, he could possibly be still alive 🎉 May he rest in heavenly peace ✌️ 1949- 2010 Just 61 years old

What an absolute joy to watch. Great post. Alex was a bit before my time but watching him in full flow is special. I got to play a few frames on the table that he won the 1982 world championship on. The year I was born!!!

In my opinion Higgins was the best of the lot... But his talent and genius was marred by rashness, a seething temperament, and his liking for drink and the high life... Maybe that's what made Alex what he was, but I've always been convinced that if he had honed all that natural talent towards the table instead of head butting officials and pissing in flower stands he would have won more tournaments than Davis or Hendry... For sheer natural talent Ronnie is truly sublime, but I still think Higgins shaded him
